Close Encounters With Tech Zombies

If you're wondering what to do this lazy Sunday, go to Youtube and watch what has become the latest Internet sensation since that video of a sneezing panda. Search Facebook Parenting.

The homemade clip features an eight-minute tirade by American father Tommy Jordon, who was so incensed by his teenage daughter's irresponsible use of Facebook - she'd posted disparaging comments about her family - that he decided to detail her sins to the Internet world. And as such things go, it has turned him into an overnight celebrity.

I think his mid-western swagger might have something to do with his newfound notoriety. In the video, he wears a wide brimmed hat, cowboy boots and puffs on a cigarette (probably a Marlboro). But wait, the best part comes at the end when he points a gun to his daughter's laptop on the ground.

'This right here is my .45,' he says before blowing the offending item to pieces. Some critics have since labelled him a trigger-happy redneck, a bad parent and even a psychopath.

But forget the prudes, Mr. Jordan, I'm behind you. After all, if I had a dollar for the number of times I've wanted to blast a gadget out of someone's hands, I'd have money coming out of my ears.

However, my gripe with teenagers and technology is slightly different. I haven't been the subject of a defamatory Facebook post, not yet anyway. But I truly believe that computers, smartphones, tablets and MP3 players have turned young people into zombies. Not the flesh-eating kind, that would be too exciting. I mean the devoid-of-soul kind.

Take for instance my experience last week, when my boyfriend and I had dinner with his extended family.

Deemed a generation younger than the 'proper' adults, the two of us were shoo-ed away to hold the fort at the 'kids' table'. We had for company three teenage cousins, a girl and two boys, who appeared surgically attached to their iPhones.

Still, I was optimistic.

'Hello,' I said chirpily. No one looked up from their toys. 'Am I invisible?' I whispered. 'No, but you're no Angry Bird,' replied my boyfriend.

The soup arrived but by this time, they had their earphones plugged in to Lady Gaga.

'Soup?' I ventured. That didn't register either, though I did get a perceptible shake of the head from one. A sign of life!

By the roast duck course, one of the boys had set up a mini entertainment system between his bowl and chopsticks. Unbelievably, he had perched his iPhone on a stand to allow for maximum viewing pleasure. The girl was lost in a black hole of texting. The other boy, bless his dedication, was probably at Stage 100 of Angry Birds.

It all reminded me of a thread I once saw on an Internet forum titled Does It Seem Like Young People Are Getting Smarter? Voted best answer: 'No. Advances in technology cover up the fact that young people are getting dumber.'

Barely 10 words were exchanged across the dinner table that fateful night.

On the flip side, my boyfriend and I merrily wolfed down a meal for five. 'Their loss is our gain,' said my boyfriend. 'We'll WhatsApp them those words of wisdom.'

I'm no Luddite and I know technology is here to stay. But can that be used as an excuse for this level of rudeness and social ineptitude?

This is now an all-too-familiar malady. Whenever I go to a restaurant, I feel sorry for parents whose kids are so absorbed in Facebooking that they have no interest in the conversation around them. Poor mum and dad, I think. All that money they are paying for their family to have a nice dinner and their precious offspring won't even give them the time of the day.

Would those of us born before the digital age have been able to get away with that? Heck no. My mother used to hang a cane behind my chair to ensure that I sat up properly, ate what was put on my plate and answered whatever questions that were lobbed at me. I dread to think what she would have done had I whipped out my handheld Tetris game.

The issue of respect aside, I sometimeslook at these tech-addicted kids - often with their mouths agape and eyes glazed over - and wonder: Er, is anyone even at home? Why have we let zombie Armageddon happen?

The expert take on this is straightforward: Grown-ups should first look in the mirror. Young people are merely following in the footsteps of role models such as their own parent, who are also reliant on iPhones and Blackberrys but think it is okay because 'it's for work'.

Work or no, the message to the next generation remains the same, that it is acceptable to put the rest of the world on pause.

I suppose the difference lies in one's ability to switch off. Despite our reliance on modern tools, people my age and older still remember a life without them. We know when to put them down and interact like human beings. Those who were born and bred digital natives haven't - and may never learn that skill.

It is official then. i am a finger-wagging old fogey complaining about the youth of today. Perhaps I should be a bit more understanding, given the view that new technologies have blown all social norms out of the window. But in my pique, I much prefer some shotgun diplomacy, Tommy Jordon-style, to get my point across.

A Visit To Atelier Royale...

It's been close to 2 wks since [AFA11] concluded, and last wk, I blogged abt the event in general - what was happening around the exhibition halls, the cosplay competition and the random cosplayers posing for pics...

Well, this post is dedicated solely to my visit to [Atelier Royale], the butler's cafe... It'll probably be quite a short post since the cafe has a no pictures allowed policy, unlike the maid's cafe next door... Nonetheless, the personal experience itself is mind-blowing and yes, I was drooling and foaming a lot... It's a miracle tt I'm still alive and didn't spastically convulsed happily to my death... ROFLMAO...

As mentioned in the previous post, I visited [AR] after I was done with the [Regional Cosplay Competition 2011] and by then, I was kinda hungry... It kinda took quite a while to enter the cafe cause by around tt time of 1600 hrs, [AFA11] was in full swing and there was a line of mainly young gals waiting patiently for their turn into [AR]... Yep, when I joined the queue, I was the only dude in line... LOL... Looks kinda weird, isn't it??? But I heck it la... *Grins* =P

1 thing good abt a table for 1 is tt it's relatively easier to get a seat compared to a larger crowd and tt was what happened to me... The group of 4 gals in front of me had to wait a little longer while a table was prepared for me... Haha... I was glad tt happened cause by the time it was my turn, I was totally starved and I need some kind of food in my stomach, any food... X_X

As I placed my order for my set meal, the lady manager (@ least I think she is) kinda recognised tt I patronized [AR] last yr as well... @ this pt in time, I got a little awkward cause it's not everyday tt ppl noticed me, much less someone who has only seen me like once, a yr ago...

It seems like the cost of taking pics with the butlers have increased as well... Last yr, it was an additional $2 if you want an extra butler to join you in the phototaking... This yr, any additional butler will cost a whopping $5... The same cost for the 1st butler tt you take the pic with... @ this pt in time, I told the lady manager tt I'll think abt it, but in actual fact, I've already made up my mind to take a pic with 2 butlers... I just haven't decided who...

'Maybe I should ask for Yutaki again, should I???'

I could only think tt much cause when the lady manager introduced me to [Yutaki] and said tt he'll be my butler for the 45 mins tt I'll be in the cafe, well, I lost all higher level brain processes...

'OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG, OMG... Yutaki is my butler!!!'

Yep, tt's all I could think abt now...

I was still in shock when he served my green tea cheesecake set meal tt comes with well, the green tea cheescake, a kit kat bar and a cup of normal coffee... I totally forgot to snap a pic of the meal to illustrate how it's absolutely not worth the $18.90 tt I paid for it due to the lack of brain functionality... However, when I finally recovered enough brain power to get my hand to add the sugar to the coffee, but my hand was trembling and I could hardly open the pack of sugar properly... Yes, I was uber excited and all my molecules are buzzing rapidly... I'm trying my best not to jump and squeal like some 12 yr old sch girl... LOL...

[Hiroshi] came to greet me later and subsequently proceeded to help me to add the creamer to my coffee... Tt's when my brain stopped working again and my entire body just froze... I just stared @ his hand adding the creamer... Now tt I thought abt it, I should've commended my head to turn to the 2'o clock position to stare @ his side profile... Gah, dammit... -_-

Anyway, it was kinda troublesome as the butlers took quite some time to add the creamer and sugar into the coffee and stir it... But like [Steph] mentioned, it's to allow the customers to stare @ the butlers longer and yes, I'm not gonna bitch abt it any more... =D

Okay, now for a short critique of the food... Despite the cake being called a green tea cheesecake, I couldn't taste any cheesecake in it and there was like 2 other layers of sponge cake in it... In other words, it's more like just green tea sponge cake... Nonetheless, it's still cake and I like it... Yep, end of review...

Now this is section is probably the most exciting part in my entire visit to [AR]... 3 other butlers came to talk to me and I was reduced to some shy, high sch sch girl... Making hasty eye contact and crappy replies just came out of my mouth when they asked me some questions... My brains totally exploded and I totally lost my act...

[Hiroshi] came over and tried to talk to me and asked me what kinda animes I like... I couldn't even list out a single anime tt I like and all I said was tt I watch whatever tt my friends recommended... This is fail no 1...

[Haru] then tried chatting with me and he recognises me from last yr, which freaks me out a little cause he's my butler last yr... He thanked me for my continual support to [AR]... Okay, I thought this is quite fail, but it's not really la...

Fail no. 2, and most likely the worst fail ever is when [Ren] came over to chat with me... He asked me whether if I did checked out the maid's cafe and why didn't I check it out and visit the butler's cafe only... My awesome reply was...

'Cause I just like the butler's cafe...'

O.M.G... I mean, what kinda crappy answer is tt?! It sounds damn gay no matter from which angle you look @ it from... Like, what is wrong with me??? Okay, my forever alone r/s status and being man-crazy with cute, guys around my age or younger is wrong with me... URGH... Gawd... Like even a 'Oh, I like the butler's cafe cause I'm a huge fan of [Kuroshitsuji]' sounded wayyyyyyy so much better than what I uttered out to [Ren]...

After I finished my cheesecake, I proceeded to utilize my awesome ability to take forever to drink my coffee just so tt I can let my eyes drink up the sight of all the butlers in action... Truth be told, the butlers this yr are all damn bloody cute and good looking... Wah lao... I AM SO GONNA DIE ALONEEEEE... ='(

After I had my coffee, I proceeded to take a pic with the butlers... And @ tt pt in time, the degree of brain dmg tt I suffered was so severe tt I could only recall [Ren]'s name... So I decided to take a pic with him & [Yutaki]...

This cost a whooping $10...

After tt pic was taken though and in the absence of any cute guys tt always screws up my brain functions, I realised tt [Ren] is not as hot as [Shou]... Like, I should've taken a pic with [Shou] instead... Haha... I actually stalked [Shou] a little on [FB] and I found out tt he's actually younger than me, studies in [NYP] and is a model somewhat... ALL THE MORE REASON FOR ME TO VISIT [NYP] AGAIN... *Pedobear look*

This last part is my final confession... I saw the [AR] merchandise and they were selling badges of the butlers in chibi form and pics of the butlers... I can't remember the badges cause I wasn't interested in their cartoon forms... I was more interested in their pics and they're being sold like in packages of 5 pics or $10... Plus if you're lucky enough, you might even get a pic tt's autographed by the butlers themselves...

I got sold and bought the pics which frankly speaking, could be DL-ed like from [FB] or the [AR] webby...

I love the group shot!!! All the cute dudes!!! *Drools*

Yes, by now, anyone reading this post would know for sure what my Achilles' Heel is already... ROFLMAO... =P

O-k-a-y... I know I haven't been blogging for uber long already... I actually did try to blog a couple of days ago, but I ended up deleting the draft which I've done cause it started getting really crappy...

Apparently, I'm totally confused and conflicted to be able to actually pen down my thoughts and feelings coherently... Actually, the other reason was tt whatever I wrote didn't sound very sophisticated, so I've decided to not publish them... Hey, I need to maintain some form of atas-ness okay... HAHA...

Anyway, [AFA11] happened over the weekend and according to the papers, this yr's event is more boomz, attracting a larger crowd compared to the previous yr and I can totally attest to tt lor... Whenever there's a cosplayer posing for pics, oh my gawd... All the photographers flocked towards the cosplayer like bees to honey and formed a human barricade around the cosplayer, rendering it virtually impossible for me to actually get a good shot...

This is compounded by those DSLR-wielders who have to scrutinize the pic tt they take on the spot, think for 20 secs before deciding whether they're happy with tt shot or not... I'll be happy if they're happy cause I can replace their spot and take the pics... Everyone should get their turn, kthxbye...

I shall leave those [iPad2]-wielders alone for now and not rant abt how their pad is more din teh than the darn DSLR, which totally blocks off more of my view if those ppl are standing in front of me...

Yep, enough ranting for now... I'm kinda on schedule and would like to complete blogging within an hr... LOL... =D

Card game competitions... Not very interested though, so NEXT!!! HAHA... =P

Initially, when I made the tour of the exhibition hall, I was like a wee bit disappointed... It's like, where are all the cosplayers/! Okay, so my eyesight fails me @ times, but still, I keep seeing figurines...

I also saw this small section tt screens the 1st ep of [Fate/Zero] and when I saw tt, I was going: 'OMG, I HAVE TO CATCH TT ANIME CAUSE I WATCHED [FATE/STAY NIGHT]!!!' So when I saw these, I went a little gaga...

It totally brings back memories of how I totally dig tt anime... Okay, I wasn't a huge fan of [Saber]... I was more interested in the other minor [Servants] and I guess it can be attributed to my preference for non-meelee fighting characters... HAHA...

By then it was like around 1400 hrs and I've decided to head to the stage area to secure a good spot for the [Regional Cosplay Competition]... I mean, I paid the additional $10 for the stage access and I sure as hell, die die must go see the competition lor... Otherwise, it's a complete waste of my money what... -_-"'

The [Malaysia] team participating in the competition deserves special mention lor... The performances actually involved fake blood and 1 of the cosplayer is actually a guy!!!

Once the competition ended and everyone began to leave the stage area, I followed suit, but I chionged back to the festival area because I wanted to visit the [Atelier Royale]... HAHA... Yep, I so didn't forgot abt it and apart from checking out the cosplay competition, waiting to head to the butler's cafe was next on my priority list and I can finally ogle @ hot butlers while having my late lunch cum early partial dinner...

Say No To Silly Orientation Games

The month of September is littered with significant occasions. There's 9/11, the day we remember the victims of the terrorist attacks on New York. There's the F1 race in Singapore, where the rest of the world casts its gaze on our little island and marvels at our organisational prowess - and ability to turn on every light bulb in the country.

And there's something else, far more frivolous, that still never fails to occupy column inches whenever September rolls round. It's... drum roll please... the beast otherwise known as University Orientation.

Tht's right. At this time each year, thousands of young Singaporeans begin a new phase in their lives by enrolling in higher education. Leaving home for the first time, they bundle into hostels in search of boy-girl dormitories and late-night roti prata. Adulthood, freedom and independence - there's plenty to look forward to.

That's until they have to attend orientation, where someone will invariably get hurt, cry or feel offended enough to write to the newspapers to complain about the proceedings.

This year, it was Singapore Management University's turn to be in the media glare, when its risque orientation games caused some girls to burst into tears. Apparently, they were made to hug members of the opposite sex and share biscuits with them - with the boys leaning over the girls in push-up positions. Angry netizens have since labelled the whole affair 'sexist, irrelevant and humiliating'.

My first thoughts about the girls were: They should have upped and left, like what I did many moons ago when I was a university freshman.

Such was the trauma of my orientation experience that I remember it with painful clarity. I lasted two days before feigning illness (though I now wish I'd had the courage to simply walk out) to escape five more days of silly games, ritual humiliation and pointless curry favouring.

By then, I'd already passed a sweet (it was much smaller than a biscuit, mind you) to a boy with my mouth, lost my contact lenses when a sniggering senior emptied a bucket of water over my head and been smacked on the bum while being made to crawl on all fours through an obstacle course.

Granted, I was then a rebellious teenager who hated the establishment. People who were, in local cmapus parlance, 'siao on' turned me off. I thought I was too cool for school.

But even with the benefit of hindsight, I still don't see the point of orientation. Each time i read about the latest controversy surrounding freshman 'fun', I think: There must be other more tolerable but equally irresponsible ways of getting to know each other. You know, like a beer or three?

Instead, despite being old enough to drink, drive and watch M18 films, it seems a necessary rite of passage for freshmen to regress into squealing 12-year-olds playing games such as Whacko and I Bomb You Bomb.

I wonder too: Isn't the inanity of the initiation shebang doubly hard to swallow for guys? After spending two years bearing arms and defending the country, imagine being told by a spotty theird-year that you now have to do the chicken dance outside Orchard Cineleisure - or else.

Ah yes, being told what to do. That was a pain in the you-know-where. At the grand old age of 18, why did I have to listen to a group of people whom I'd never met before, who were barely older than me and whose sole agenda was to make my life miserable?

Worse still were the freshers who fell for the whole charade and became hanger-ons to seniors deemed to be influential or important. All that ego-stroking paid off, though. The most good-looking/popular first-years were often chosen by the powers-that-be to participate in the hall pageant.

Good times for some perhaps, but not for Plain Janes like me who were lousy at the whole popularity game. Even then, it seemed pretty juvenile to crown a King and Queen of a hostel building consisting of shoebox-sized rooms and shared toilets.

I recall some activities as being fairly dangerous, such a the traditional 'night walk' where we were made to traipse through Lim Chu Kang cemetery in the dark, prime targets for ghosts, kidnappers and mosquitoes.

A common ruse was also that of the 'fake fresher', where a senior planted in the orientation would go missing during the night walk. My fellow freshers were distraught. Cynical ol' me just wanted to go to bed.

Luckily, my orientation disaster did not define my university exerience. Never mind if I was a po-faced spoilsport for most of the week. I still made friends after, which cements my view that forced interaction through a seven-day boot camp isn't the only way to kickstart your social life.

Those who remember their first week with fondness will of course vehemently disagree. They'll say the crazy antics are about getting people to come out of their shells, and that ragging is part of a long-held tradition promoting bonding through adversity. They'll say the cheeky games encourage boys and girls to mix so they can go on to get married and start families like obedient Singaporeans.

There's no need to buy into the bonding-through-adversity nonsense. There'll be plenty of opportunities to build friendships later by joining a sports team or recreational club as I did. Forget orientation, most of these just require you to turn up. And as for the matchmaking argument, I hardly think hormonally charged young adults need any prodding in that direction.

In short, they'll still find ways to um, orientate themselves. And hey, there might still be some mouth-to-mouth biscuit sharing after all.

A Certain Blindness

Some years ago, when I taught in a primary school, I ran an after-school chess club each Wednesday afternoon.

One time, as the pupils were setting up their boards and pieces, ready to play, a girl walked past my classroom with her mother.

'I think I'd like to join the chess club,' I heard her say.

Her mother cast her a withering look and replied, 'Don't be stupid. Chess is boring.'

The girl's mother was wrong.

In two ways. First, she was wrong to discourage her daughter from trying new things and exploring new interests.

And second, she was wrong to dismiss chess as boring.

Back in the days when I played competitive chess (at novice level), I used to feel queasy with excitement before an important game.

Afterwards, I would lie awake in bed playing and replaying the moves in my head, sometimes gloating over my win, sometimes beating myself up over my blunders.

So I know from experience that chess can be thrilling.

It may not be to everyone's taste. Indeed, it is not to everyone's taste. But for those who appreciate it, it can be a captivating and beautiful game.

In 1899, psuchologist and philosopher William James wrote an essay entitled On A Certain Blindness In Human Beings.

Its subject was 'the blindness with which we are all afflicted with regard to the feelings of creautres and people different from ourselves'.

In his essay, James pointed out that humans are practical beings, each with his own functions and duties to perform.

These functions and duties are of vital importance to us, but are generally of limited importance to others.

Similarly, things that are of vital importance to others tend to be of limited importance to us.

Furthermore, we all have different characters, abilities, experiences and needs.

Consequently, we are all motivated by and interested in different things.

The upshot of this, James felt, is that none of us should 'presume to decide in an absolute way on the value of another person's conditions or ideals'.

It may seem to us that other people spend their time and energy on things that are of little value or importance.

But we do not experience the world the way they do; we do not know the things they know; we do not understand all the things they understand.

Therefore, we are not qualified to judge.

I once knew a man who was intensely interested in two things: his religion and his career.

These things stimulated his interest, excited his imagination and gave zest to his life.

He had, on the other hand, not the slightest interest in fashion and beauty.

I remember remarking to him, one day, that a certain woman whom we both knew was always exquisitely dressed and beautifully groomed.

'It's a pity she has nothering better to do with her time,' he retorted.

Her priorities were different from his and so he dismissed them.

he viewed them as shallow and even contemptible.

It did not occur to him that perhaps the reason she had different priorities and interests was that she possessed different abilities and sensibilities; that perhaps she was able to appreciate certain things that he could not.

James believed that considerations such as these ought to influence us in two ways.

First, they should prevent us from being too ready to dismiss as meaningless other people's lifestyles and interests.

Second, they should prompt us to 'tolerate, respect and indulge those whom we see harmlessly interested and happy in their own ways, however unintelligible these may be to us'.

We are all afflicted by 'a certain blindness', by the inability to see the world as others see it.

It is a universal defect. But we can, at least, be aware of it.

Back In SG...

It's really close to impossible to blog down EVERY single event tt happened while I was still in [Vancouver]... Even though I'm in sch doing boring stuff like mugging & being a zai nan in sch, I still go out every once in a while and once finals were over, I practically went out daily for the remaining days before I flew off... The stuff tt I wanna narrate, the pics tt I wanna post up here are simply overwhelming...

I've decided to blog on perhaps the really major ones (IMO, obviously) in 1 post... Yeah, so it's gonna be a long, boring post filled with tons of clickable small pics... LOL...

Before I do tt though, I've to upload all of them onto [PhotoBucket] 1st and currently, I've uploaded all the [SEP] pics le... I'm left with another 50+ pics tt I've took when I came back here... Yes, so tt blog post will only appear after I'm done uploading all the pics...

Anyway, I've stumbled upon a few vids while I was camping on [FB] (surprisingly, being a creeper has its benefits... LOL...) & I feel tt they're really meaningful...

Well, after watching these vids, I've to admit tt @ least there's some effort in trying to get [SG] to be more accepting towards the [LGBT] community... I seriously hope tt one day, [SG] will be like [Canada], where [PLU] can be proud of who they are and not hide in the closet from the homophobics... Where we can be queer & proud of it... But until tt day come, I've no choice but to show my support thru this blog, where the only readers are probably the chosen ones who truly know and accept me for who I am...

Anyway, crazy stuff still happens... Like last [Mon], it actually snowed for like half a day!!! And I heard tt there was like hail on [Wed]... It seems like tt strange event happened when I was in my lec, which was a real pity cause I've never seen hail before...

Well, the other day I was mourning tt I've wayyyyy too much credit on my meal plan card and tt it's impossible for me to spend all the credit by the 26th on my own... So...

Speeding Time Up Or Slowing It Down???

Yesterday was my free day and I've set my mind on camping in the com lab (as usual) to catch a movie, stalk a few friends and play [RC]... Sounds like an awesome plan to kill the time doing everything except studying...

However, I was so, so, so, so, SO wrong!!! -_-"'

Time was moving damn slow la... By the time I completed my movie and my [FB] routine, it was only 12.30 pm or so...

I didn't wanna watch another movie as it's no fun movie marathon-ing alone...

Back in [SG], it's like 3 am, so not a single soul is online and available for me to bug... =\

I can't remember exactly what I did in front of the com after tt, but I ended up walking around aimlessly around the campus and hoped tt I could find some nice scenery to cam whore with...

It got sunny sometime around 2.30 pm, but the weather is still too chilly for me to stand outside for too long to take much pics...

Not to mention tt I was in my oversized jacket AND MY ZI PAI-ING SKILLS ISN'T EVEN ON PAR WITH [SH] LA...

So much for being inspired to camwhore after seeing all the kirei kirei pics tt [K] took during [MFW2011] as well as what [Yutaki] is capable of achieving... *Depressed*

So before I headed to grab Chinese for dinner, I decided to stop by [OOC] and checked tt club out with my excuse of checking out their resource lib...

Once I'm there, I found tt the place is really a good hiding place and maybe, just maybe, I don't have to be so discreet...

Then again, if i let my guard down now (a form of change), I've to build up my guard all over when I'm back in [SG] (more change)... Frustrating TTM~!!! X_X

Anyway, my eyes landed on this novel - [Rainbow Boys]... And after reading the 1st 10 chapters or so, it's totally an awesome read... I mean, I've always read normal romance novels tt's always revolving around straight couples in the supernatural context, but this... This I can totally relate to...

I'm finally reading my 1st queer novel... ^_^

LOL... Anyway, the story is abt being queer, coming out, falling love & surviving thru sch... And the way it's written... It sorta mirrors some of the thoughts tt's going thru my mind every now and then...

I heard tt apart from the book tt I'm reading now, the story continues in another 2 more books... OMG LA... With so little time left in [Canada], I can only cross my fingers and hope tt the books exist somewhere in [SG]... *Prays hard*

Ha!!! A couple of days ago, I decided to hide in the library & watch [Inception]... It's really an interesting show with the whole dream within a dream concept and tt ideas when implanted in another's mind, are like viruses tt'll slowly grow and spread...

Just like when I heard [Rebecca Black]'s [Friday] again on [Singapore]'s national radio - [987 FM]... It kinda stuck in my head now and I can't stop thinking abt the absurd chorus...

3 days ago was [April Fool's] in [SG] and my friends decided to play a mean prank on me... I actually wanted to post up the [MSN] conver here, but [XP]'s chat log was in the .xml format and I've no frigging clue how to open and edit it or whatsoever... So bo bian lor, have to type everything out... ~_~

The culprits were [Cass] & [XP]... They claimed tt they've to think long & hard for it... Well, the gist is tt when I was chatting with [XP], she told me tt there was a mass conver the previous day and [SH] actually told everyone tt 1 of his friend is interested in me and has been stalking me online... However, he has a strange & disgusting habit of picking his nose while watching TV (WTH?!)...

@ this pt in time, with my low self-esteem & cautious nature, I was naturally doubtful... After all, I'm not exactly BF material with my zai nan-ish character and absolute disinterest in almost everything guy related (cars, sports, etc)...

However, before I could ask any further, [XP] had to leave for sch and so, I was left with [SH] & [Cass] to question... Even before [XP] asked me to check with [Cass], I've already made up my mind to ask her... Somehow, I've never felt comfy chatting with [SH] abt my insecurities and everything... It just feels... Awkward... Zzz... -_-"'

[Cass] was even more power... She told me tt said admirer is rich & hunky... Now, 'hunky' is really subjective, so to make me take the bait, she said tt the guy looks almost like actor [Elvin Ng]... Okay la, what she said was [Huang Jun Xiong]... I've to [Google] to check out the pics as I don't really remember [SG] actors names...

Weird thoughts started forming in my brain... I was still really doubtful as from personal case study of [K]:

1. Hunky guys will never be interested in me... Period... Sparkly ppl will hang out with sparkly ppl...
2. Bloody rich bastards will hang out with equally rich counterparts... In addition, with them sleeping in $ beds, they'll be sparkly too cause they can buy tons of kirei kirei clothes... This links back to pt 1 above...

Part of me was still secretly happy la... I mean, despite the odds being against me, there's still a small probability tt miracles can happen one what... So as I was tell [Cass] tt if [SH] didn't really tell me in person, I shall take the 'rumor's as false...

[CASS] THEN SAID TT IT'S NOT [SH] TT'S BLUFFING ME, BUT [XP] & HERSELF...

I was sordidly disappointed tt my 5 mins of happiness was all for nth... And I was initially furious for them to play tt kinda prank on me... Come to think of it, it's also very embarrassing la!!! My despo nature is revealed lor... *SIGH*

[Fri] was quite a happening day for me... I couldn't ta han my long & thick hair la, so I decided to chop it off... I've realised tt with a long fringe, it's IMPOSSIBLE to see when the hair is covering the eye... How do girls stand it?! Do they have a special x-ray ability to see thru their own hair??? *Puzzled*

Really short hair cut & styled by the hairstylist...

[JapaDog]!!! Wow, if not for all the cai @ the side of the hotdog, it'll be even more shiok lor...

Anyway, I heard tt [JapaDog] will be setting up a temp booth on [Tue]... Time for more awesome hotdogs... XD

Me ish a glutton sia... After tt hotdog, I couldn't resist and bought a crepe to go... [Nutella & Bananna Crepe]...

My friends jio-ed me out for dinner and I joined them despite being too full to eat a proper meal... This time, we headed to [Earl's Restaurant & Bar] @ [Gilmore]... Wah seh, the restaurant is located along a highway and it looks uber ulu lor... The exterior of the restaurant also looks damn shady, cause it's a black building... Machiam like warehouse like tt where kidnappers stashed their victims... LOL...

Once we approached the entrance, 4 waitresses wearing spaghetti dress & showing TONS of cleavage opened the door and welcomed us...

My thoughts: *Peek beyond cleavage land* Shit-face/piang, so dark, how to see??? Si...
XP's comment when I told her abt the waitresses: Wah, the door damn heavy is it???

Yes, they do have loads of nice alcoholic drinks too... Should've tried the martinis cause I heard they're quite sweet... XD

I couldn't eat much, so I ended up ordering [Sundae] ($7) & garlic bread ($4)...

The garlic bread... Machiam like those [HK] cafe french toast lor...

The waffle biscuit is coated with maple syrup... Even I find tt it's a little too sweet for me to handle... Opps... =X

Disregarding the waitresses, the waiters are also very nice to look @... But I was trying to be discreet abt it, so I paid more attention to my food instead... Haha... the only prob I have with the restaurant is tt the staff are WAYYYYY TOO FRIENDLY... Every 10 mins someone'll walk over to check how's our meal... LOL...

Okay, moving on, yesterday the sch had this exchange student briefing for the local students who're going on exchange and I decided to help out and chat with the students who're going to [SG]... Had the usual discussion as to what mods are tough, what're the recommended mods to take, etc...

I initially didn't have much of a concrete plan as to how I wanted to explore the interesting places, so [S] 1st brought me to [Surrey Central], where the other [SFU] campus is located... Amazing how I've never been there after so long hor...

The architecture of the campus is nice... Kinda had the [MRB] & [SMU] feel... And what's cool is tt the mall is located just below the campus can!!!

Classrooms @ the top floors, shopping centre @ the ground...

After having a short tour around the campus and the library, we traveled to [Richmond]... Checked out the 3 malls situated in [Aberdeen] and I've set my eyes on 2 shops in [Parker Place]... Shall return back there to buy the bag and perhaps some clothes too, nvm tt it's really not worth it to shop in [Canada], with everything being so freaking ex...

A previous shop @ [Aberdeen Center] tt sells rather unique tops have to tops going for anywhere from $240+... Got 1 even $400+ can... SIAO RIGHT?!

Or maybe [Asian Canadians] are just loaded... -_-"'

The final stop for the day was back @ [Robson St]... [S] recommended [Benkei Ramen] and it's really awesome!!!

[Curry Ramen]!!! The chicken is really tender and the curry is nice too!!! YUMS... =D

Passed by a choc fondue shop on our way back tot he skytrain stn and I'm tempted to try it!!! You'll be sure tt I'll return back to [Robson St] to try tt out!!! And I heard tt [English Bay] promises even more delicious food... HA!!!

Okay, I know I've just blogged yesterday... But hey!!! Considering tt I haven't been blogging for quite some time for the past few mths, let's consider this as backlog clearing la... Haha...

Actually, I did plan to blog abt this yesterday... It's just tt the previous post's content amuses me by so much tt I totally forgot abt it...

Not to forget [SHINee] fan fics...

Before I digress further, yesterday I actually checked my credit balance on my meal card... It initially had $1,350 for me to spend on anything in the [Dining Hall] and some other places with food...

After 82 days, balance = $670.68...

This implies tt I've spent around $679.32 on food, which is like approx. $8.28/day (3 s.f)... Give and take here and there cause there're some days when I actually decided to head elsewhere to have food other than pizza, burgers and poutine... Food such as [Subway] sandwiches, [Chinese] food and [Jap] food...

There're also days when I headed out with friends for dinner (remembers abt boomz crepes from [Cafe Crepes])...

Heh... Initially, when I did the calculations, I thought tt 8 bugz isn't really a lot... But on 2nd thought, IT IS LA!!! Because of the HUGE ASS serving and my non-existent stomach, I've been surviving on 2 meals daily... If you think abt it, tt's more than $4 per meal daily...

Back in [SG], I can have:

2 bows of ba chor mee from [Arts Canteen]
1 meal from the western food store in [Biz Canteen]
1 plate of cai fan from the [Biz Canteen]

And best of all...

4 red bean bread from the drink store in [Biz Canteen]!!!

Mind you, for all of the above items, I'll still get back a few cents change lor... -_-"'

I initially wanted to whine abt my pathetic love life... However, after a few days of procrastinating by doing everything apart from studying, I was inspired to blog abt something else instead...

And amazingly, the inspiration came from reading [XiaXue]'s blog... Yesssss... I was really bo liao to the extent tt after reading her few latest posts, I decided to look thru her past entries as well...

Call her entries crap or whatever... But it has to be good crap for it to attract so many readers, right???

Anyway, for the last few times tt I was clearing my e-mails from my [NUS] acc, I noticed tt some random biz ppl (okay, they're not totally random, just acquaintances) who're in [Biz Connect] have been sending e-mails to me with regards to their upcoming initiative for some networking of some sorts, I think...

Heh, from my vagueness in describing what [Biz connect] actually does, you can deduce tt I'm obviously not involved in it so I don't know what it is and I don't intend to really care... I have much more important things to do... Like ogling @ hot eye candies sitting all around me in the sch's lib... LOL...

Well, since the e-mail didn't really take up much of my space, I've decided to just ignore it and hope tt those ppl will realise tt they've been sending their e-mails to the wrong person and hence zi dong stop...

IDK how some of those ppl who sent the e-mail have the misconception tt I'm involved in this whole discussion... And it's quite absurd to say tt you mistook me for someone else can... I mean, when it comes to this kinda discussion, you should know the ppl you're collaborating with, no???

Attempting To Grow Fat Fail...

Heh, due to me being so busy doing other stuff apart from mugging, I've been putting off blogging till now, when I actually don't have the urge to watch any anime... Rather, I wanna listen to [987FM] and kill time till the lib closes in another 81 mins...

Tt time isn't sufficient to cover like 3 eps of anime anyway... =P

Well, a couple of wks ago, my friend was raving abt how awesome pasta @ [Anton's Pasta Bar] was... How huge the servings were and tt it's totally impossible even for a hungry ghost to finish 1 bowl of pasta... How the waiters auto will ask you whether you wanna tabao the leftovers...

Amused by the claims, I've decided to check the place out on my own last wk after my lec... To prepare my stomach for the onslaught of pasta, I even had a light breakfast... In fact, I was kinda starving when I finally made my way there...

I think I know why most ppl can't finish the pasta le... The bread is a hidden part of the order... OMG... O_O

My [Agnolotti Cardinale]!!! According to the menu, it's a dish of 'meat stuffed pasta in a creamy tomato meat sauce'... And notice how the bowl is filled to the brim with pasta... I could hardly mix the sauce and after eating like 3/4 of it, I'm really uber full... Ha~...

And I didn't tabao the leftovers cause I know I won't be eating them till like exactly 24 hrs later... And this is a decision tt got me condemned by my friends... They felt tt I was quite foolish to abandon & waste such heavenly pasta... I could've packed for them... ROFLMAO...

One thing is for sure though, I'll definitely return back to satisfy my ever present thirst for pasta... XD

After my pasta adventure, the next day, I headed all the way to [Richmond] for dim sum with my other SEP friends... I didn't take much pics and the pic tt I wanna post here refused to rotate even though I already rotated it on [Photobucket]... IDK what's the prob la... Zzz... -_-"'

Despite not being able to locate any [XLBs] on the menu, as a whole though, the dim sum was delicious and relatively cheap... After the horrible 12% tax & 10% service charge, the bill came up to like $17.50 per person... Quite reasonable IMO... Haha... ^_^

But, but, but!!! I did take a pic of this!!! This is the dessert tt I had after the dim sum brunch & me & my friends' mini adventure in [Richmond]...

It's not really ice-kachang, but it's good enough with all the fruits... I just don't really like the ice cause they simply used the ice-blender to crush it, causing the ice to be damn coarse... LOL...

A pic of the [Asian Food Fest] which took place today in sch... Tried the beef and pork skewers and cheesecakes... OMG, if it isn't tt cold and i actually layered more, I think I would've bought more cheesecake instead of the 2 slices tt I had la...

Haha... Disclaimer hor... It's not because the cheesecake's nice... It's simply because there's no other better nearby alternatives like the one in the next pic, which can only be found in town and cost a freaking $7.21...

I still camwhore once in a while... LOL!!! =P

R/s Status: Forever Alone...

Anyway, I'm in the process of trying to upload all the pics tt I've accumulated for the past few wks... It's really gonna take forever considering tt there're like 247 pics... How on earth did I manage to take THAT many pics???

Okay, I guess for CERTAIN ppl, 247 pics in 3 wks is like child's play... La-la-la~...

*Ahem* I guess I should get into the content proper le, since I've only limited time on the sch's com... Gonna join my friends to play with snow later and I hope I don't freeze to death while playing... Tt's gotta really top the list of my epic fails... =P

Well, seeing tt I don't have a laptop to entertain me 24/7, my wandering mind has decided to think abt the various reasons as to why I will most likely remain single...

1. Night-blindness. This is perhaps the fundamental reason as to why I won't be able to find a BF... The inability to check out the gay scene in [SG] or even when I'm in [Vancouver], where society's really much more open to the [LGBT] community, means tt I couldn't really network and know more PLU... Of course, I can also network with all the straight ppl tt I bump into on a daily basis and hope tt one fine day, I'll hit jackpot and meet someone who's gay... But tt's like finding a needle in a haystack, isn't it???

The other thing abt this genetic flaw tt's in me is tt I can't really function well when light intensity is low... I'm like a reverse of a normal vampire, or [Cinderalla] with an earlier curfew... In other words, even if I wanna spend quality time, I've only till before the sun sets and really, now available am I during those times when there's sch to be content with???

2. Introverted nature. I take quite some time to warm up to ppl and in this community, this is really working against my favor... There's this unspoken need to really hit it off on the 1st date, which is really WTH... And is it really a crime tt I prefer to take it slow??? Come to think of it, the rush for the guys to be in a r/s is giving me the impression tt they've a ticking biological clock akin to females approaching the age of 40...

3. Wrong priorities. No matter how I rank it, I somehow place whatever I can do with my com immediately after my studies... Or on par with my studies and everything else will rank below it... So, unless I can find someone as crazy as me to really log into [FB] on a daily basis simply for [RC]-ing or spamming our walls with game posts of different sorts, I guess I'm on my own for the time being...

4. Loner. I can really do social events on my own... Eating, shopping, catching a movie... In actual fact, I like to window shop alone... @ least I can walk around, own time, own target... And I'll usually target what I wanna buy 1st before returning back another time with another person in tow to give me opinions as to whether I should really buy it...

5. High expectations. Okay, I don't sparkle like [Edward Cullen], or have a bod like [Jacob Black], but I sure as hell would like my other half to be as romantic as [Kang Shin Woo] or as adorable as [Jeremy] from the [Korean] drama [You're Beautiful]... Yeah, TV has really instill an unrealistic ideal BF in my head such tt normal guys all pale in comparison in my eyes...

Hmmm... I thought the list could go on, but I guess my brain has indeed turn a bit mushy from the lack of protein in my diet tt thinking for an hr is really hurting my head... Woah, is this how I can devolved to a himbo??? o_O

Accelerated D-day...

I guess being on [RC], [Cafe World] & watching a whole lots of dramas totally beat blogging... And the reason why I'm doing this now is because I'm debating b/w heading downtown and checkout the gay bookstore and doing ep 2 of [You're Beautiful]...

With snow and rain falling down in campus, I've a feeling tt it's raining everywhere in [Vancouver], and this is the kind of weather tt's not nice to walk around in... Just think freezing fingers and toes... Brrr...

Anyway, I know I haven't been uploading any pics for quite a while... The reason is because I totally forgot to bring the cable to transfer the pics... Of course, I could rely on the SD card, but after it gave me the BSOD after I tried to force my lappy to read the darn thing, I've decided tt screwing my com just because of a few hundred pics is a price tt I can't afford to pay...

Well, tt was a couple of wks back... And just 4 days ago, I found out tt my com did indeed died on me... It now refused to boot up... The only indication tt it's not totally dead is simply a flashing num lock light...

*Sigh*

Just great, all this happened when I'm having my reading break, the perfect time to actually stay in my room and nua the entire time away just like I've always done... Not to forget tt I'm totally dependent on [FB] to kill the time... How am I suppose to survive w/o [RC], [Cafe World] and constantly stalking ppl tt'll easily take up like half a day???

MY ENTIRE LIFE AS I KNOW IT, IS OVERRRRR... *Screams*

O-k-a-y... Tt's like a little kua zhang cause obviously, I managed to survive 4 days w/o destroying anything in sight or mourning like some retard... The bright side of this is tt I'll finally be forced to really mug...

Like real...

4 days have passed and all I've ever did was to head to [West Mall Complex] to use the com lab and play with my [iPhone]... Of course, there's also [Tue] when I decided to head out to [ChinaTown] on my own for some dim sum... And speaking of tt, it was really a good experience, trying to locate any restaurant tt sells dim sum... I think I did walked like 3 circles around [ChinaTown] before locating a random restaurant to satisfy my cravings and even then, being a puny eater tt I am when it comes to normal food, I couldn't eat much... =\

Next time, if I could find anyone to accompany me, I'll definitely wanna try more stuff... Tee-hee... ^_^

Hmmm... I think tt's abt it for this post... I think I'll just continue with my drama watching for today and head out tmr... It's kinda sucky to go out on my own when I've a time limit hovering above my head... No matter what, I've to be back before the sun sets or I'll be in trouble... The street lighting around here isn't tt good as compared to tt of in [SG]...

Of course, when friends are around, they shall be my eyes and I'll usually stay out till much later... Ho-ho-ho... =D

Day 4 (Breakfast, lunch):

Aiya, I know, I know... I should take the contents of what I had for lunch instead of the 'awesome' packaging... But I was simply too hungry and I wanted to attack my sub ASAP... Plus, I think I was still a little in awe over the mall tt I was currently in @ tt pt in time... My friends jio-ed me to [MetroTown] and according to them, tt's like the biggest mall in the whole of [British Columbia]... And boy does it live up to its name... It's simply HUGE!!! It's like [VivoCity] + [Jurong Point] + half of [Ion Orchard] can... Totally wow... X_X

Okay, this is like the closest to [Chinese] tt I can get last wk... And when I 1st tried the noodles and the soup, it reminds me of what my grams would cook for me once in a while... And it's kinda make me miss home... Awww...

Of course, towards the mid of the meal, my gawd... The mushrooms are totally TASTELESS I TELL YOU... So I've effectively been tasting only noodles, soup, more noodles and more soup to the pt tt it's making me feel like puking... UGH~...

As I've missed orientation and [Day 6] was my free day, I've decided to join the campus tour tt's held on a daily basis @ 1100 hrs & 1400 hrs... I chose the 1100 hrs slot so tt after the tour, I can nua -, I mean, chiong my assignments... =P

This is the day classes are canceled because IT'S SNOWING!!!

For the 1st time ever, I'm not seeing artificial snow from [SnowCity], but real snow tt fell from the top of the sky and coating everything in a sheet of white... It's a nice sight... Of course, now tt I've actually seen snow, I don't need to see it again le... HAHA... Yep, I want back my warm [SG] weather le... Heke... XD

Okay, [Day 10] was an awesome day... I managed to get on the [Vancouver City Highlight] tour @ the last min as I was hanging around with my friends who're going and it seems like there're some no-shows, so I took over their place... It's a total eye-opener!!!

Heh... Imagine the amt of food tt'll be served!!! Totally suitable for ppl who have black holes as their stomachs... =P

[Triple Cheese] pizza!!! I thought I wouldn't see such a thing... HAHA... And after having this, I didn't feel full... So I ended up having an [Apple Triangle], something I had back on [Day 6]...

Gawd, I felt sinful after tt for eating too much... *SOBS*

Oh, and I did some mandatory shopping as well... Decided to pick up a laundry basket & detergent cause I've to do the laundry... Can't have all the clothes not wash for the entire 4 mths tt I'm here what... GROSS!!!

It turns out tt most of the shops are closed on [Sun], except the supermarket... So I managed to grab the very impt detergent to wash my clothes with... And guess what else did I stumble upon???

Converting back to SGD, giving today's rate, it's approx. $7.80... CHEAP ISN'T IT??? ROFLMAO... [SH], jealous much??? =P

It has almost been a wk since I arrived @ [SFU], located up in [Burnaby]... I still haven't gotten rid of the jet lag as I couldn't slp when I have to and when it's time for classes and everything, I'm always on the verge of dozing off... This got to the pt where straight after the class ended, I simply headed back to my room and hit the bed...

And no matter how I sleep, I just couldn't slp past 2 hrs before waking up cold... LOL... Okay, for the 1st few days, tt happened because I didn't know how to operate the air-con/radiator... Now tt the radiator is set to the max possible setting, my room feels cozy... Heke...

Not tt I was able to get my good night's rest... Somehow, some goon decided to call me @ like 0024 hrs in the goddamn morning... My slp-fogged brain thought the ring tone was the alarm and I tried to wake myself up... It's only after when I stared @ the time for the 2nd time did I realised tt it's NOT 0600 hrs @ all... By then, I'm already awake and couldn't get back to slp... Zzz... =(

Oh well, I just hope tt I'll have better luck tonight in getting my correct amt of slp @ the correct time...

Haha... I promised [Steph] tt I'll take down pics of all my meals tt I ate during the time I'm around here... I seriously doubt I'll do this for 3 mths straight, probably just the 1st mth as after tt, everything's gonna be rather repetitive le... LOL!!!

After procrastinating for real long, I've finally set my mind to do up a decent post tt consist of not the whiney rants abt my single status, but of the stuff tt I've done over the past couple of days...

Okay!!! The 1st thing tt I wanna talk abt it of ppl's strange behavior when they're in a queue... Ever noticed tt in those M/M/1 server, there's always someone who'll stand really, really close to the person currently being served??? This happened a couple of times to me and personally, I feel tt it's a total intrusion of my personal space... As if simply by standing nearer to me when I'm being served, you'll get your turn faster... News flash, tt's not gonna happen... In fact, I think tt'll lengthen the service time cause I'll be aware of some unholy presence and begin to get a little bit uncomfortable... Plus, it tempts me to simply 'accidentally' stumble back and knock onto you... And you totally deserve it...

I crashed [DH]'s [Xmas] party with her [FOC] exco friends cause I was unfortunate enough to bumped into [M] while I was eating [SubWay] after catching [Rapunzel] by myself... And we ended up playing [Uno Stacko] 1st and it was exciting just knowing tt the structure might collapse anytime...

Of course, we did play [Monopoly Deal] too and I like tt game as well!!! It's a pity tt I can't truly enjoy it due to it being a game tt requires players to be able to see colours real well...

It seemed like I won some moolah... I should've followed [K] and send a reply and get them to donate everything away... ROFLMAO...

Speaking abt getting quick cash, it was only a couple of days ago tt I received an e-mail from sch asking me if I'm interested to participate in another survey... This time, I've to complete an online component as well as head to sch for another survey... It's estimated tt it'll take @ least 3 hrs to complete everything and we'll get $60 for our efforts...

W/o hesitation, I turned down the offer... Like WTH, right?! Where the hell can I ever find such good deals again??? And I won't get the chance to earn such easy $$$ again till the next academic yr starts... Yes, this is epic-ly dumb... -_-"'

It's nearing impossible for me to blog on a weekly basis, mainly because there's not much going on in my life and my inner thoughts are getting increasingly messy, rendering myself unable to really put them in words...

Besides, I've never been much of a diary person and I've to admit, my initial purpose of starting this blog is to get the attention of my friends... Of course, with most of them no longer checking on my blog, blogging has been much like crapping in front of a wall...

So yeah... I'm now blogging mainly because I don't feel like playing games and I'm bored... In fact, for this post, I'm just blabbering just so tt I could keep myself occupied while my pics get uploaded on [PhotoBucket]...

Time seemed to be a jumble... Was it last wk or 2 wks ago tt I spoke to [MJ]??? Well, regardless of when, the fact is tt I did spoke to her and I would say tt she has been really patient to lend a listening ear to me, @ the time when I'm feeling so darn troubled...

'What do I really want???'

I'm now seeking the answer to this question... Am I really looking for someone whom I can spend the rest of my life with??? A sex partner??? A once off fling??? Or simply friends??? Frankly speaking, I still can't figure tt out for myself...

LOL... And it's usually @ this point where I'll usually stop whatever I'm blogging and simply push it to the back of my mind, ignoring it and simply deny the existence of such a prob... This time however, I've actually state the prob in words, admit tt I've no a single clue to this solution and wish like hell for an answer key...

I guess the state tt I'm in is all of my own doing... If only I'm contented with what I have and not constantly try to obtain what I would like to have, I'll definitely be a happier person...

I was supposed to blog abt a certain issue in my previous post as well, but I guess crossing paths with a complete stranger whom I consider as rather cute has gotten me a little... Distracted... -_-"'

Well, now tt it's in the middle of the night & I'm not really in the mood to watch any more videos for the day, I've decided to do some blogging to kill the time... Apart from logging into [FB] for the sole purpose of checking complete strangers out, as I've been doing ever since 1 yr ago, give or take a few days...

In life, I guess all of us will cross path with different ppl from all walks of life... I used to think tt this doesn't concern me @ all... What with me being a complete introvert, acquaintances just stay as tt, their status will never be upgraded... Combine this with my natural fear of strangers, I would admit tt I'm not quick to warm up to anyone...

The bottom-line??? I give of the impression tt I'm not very approachable...

However, the status quo changed around 15 mths ago, when I actually started uni life... Much as I like to shut myself up like I always do, I guess age has finally caught up with me and I'm starting to feel how lonely I am... The end result is tt I began to open up a little to my friends, sharing issues abt myself tt I'll never share THAT readily in the past...

In order words, I've began to not let whatever happened when I was in [KSS] haunt me any longer... I've actually let my guard down...

i initially thought this would work in my favor... Like, hey!!! Now tt I'm becoming slightly more sociable, perhaps my social circle could finally expand @ a faster pace... So, over these few mths, I've given it a shot and tried...

I would love to say tt despite the outcome not being what I've anticipated, I've made certain progress... However, truth be told, I'm really not sure whether I've made much progress @ all in the 1st place... But @ this pt in time, as I'm doing up this rather depressing post IMO, I'm sure of 1 thing...

I've completely & utterly lost who I am & I feel like I've accomplished nth but accumulate more regrets ever since 15 mths ago...

Okay, I admit tt this has been @ the back of my mind for quite some time already and all I've ever done was to push it to the back of my mind... And every single time when my feeble attempts to network failed, I'll delude myself by saying tt 'better luck next time!!!'... Tt false hope tt I've been harboring is no different to me slicing my arm up just to let it heal and slice it up once again, all the while pretending tt I won't be scarred @ all...

I guess the final straw came when someone whom I've always considered as a friend told me tt he has never considered me as a friend... This is as good as telling me tt the times we've had together hanging out, lunching & me lending a listening ear when you're down all meant nth and tt he has been playing with me...

It's 1 thing if we drifted apart after a while, but to say those words out loud, straight in my face... The hurt was really unimaginable... And the fact tt you've said it when you've had a fight with someone and you're not thinking clearly isn't really lessening the pain, not when there wasn't even an attempt to personally apologise...

It feels like what I've been thru in [KSS] all over... I feel like I've been stabbed in the back, betrayed... I guess I should let go of this and let go of more stuff, but I can't really bear to... Haha... In a sense I've sorta understand the magnitude of the saying tt it's hard to let go and harder to move on...

Perhaps in 29 days, when I make my way to the other side of the globe, when I'm away from this tiny red dot tt holds all these unpleasant memories, I might truly be able to heal my damaged heart... For now though, I think I better start to find more stuff to do to keep myself occupied...

While the hols are a good reprieve from the busy sch schedule, it has also given me more time to thing abt things tt I'd rather not thing abt... =(

Finally!!! The worse is finally over!!! It's now the hols and the results won't be out till the 4 days before [X-Mas]... In the meantime, there's no use brooding over my performance... Off to the back of my head it goes and it's time to have tons of fun chillaxing... HAHA... XD

Anyway, here're some of the quirky and crazy stuff tt me & my friends did and/or saw while we're busily mugging for the dreadful finals...

This is an A4 piece of paper and [DH]'s notes for our [ACC1006] paper... Really, it's truly amazing tt she's able to write TT small and be able to locate all the stuff as well...

This is my masterpiece... Produced using [MS Word], font size 9... I kinda squeeze 2 pgs of the doc into 1 side of the paper just so I can add more notes... LOL...

I'm positive tt [NUS] is simply trying to make all of us short-sighted... ~_~

Fast forward to today, I met up with [SL], [YH], [MJ] & [Bec] for a mini gathering... The initial plan was to have lunch @ [Seoul Garden], but once we swayed all the way to the restaurant, we got news tt the place is totally packed and we've to be placed on the waiting list... If it's possible, I should've done an advance booking... So, there goes the thought of stuffing myself silly with meat... =(

Of course, it doesn't end there... After placing my name on the waiting list, which for the record, was totally useless because the waiter didn't even bother to give a return call like after the entire day... Anyway, we were wise enough to fall back on the other alternative, which was to head over to [CineLeisure]'s [Suki Sushi]... This time, THERE WASN'T ANY QUEUE @ ALL, so we just waltzed right in and started on the quest to make [Suki Sushi] suffer a net loss for the day...

[SL] had to leave mid-way... And we kinda ate more once he's gone... Machiam like we've to protect our image in front of him like tt... HAHA!!! -_-"'

I didn't take much pics this time, but thanks to [MJ] who made tt passing comment tt she thinks she saw someone who looks like [K]'s friend, it was only then tt I turned around and saw tt IT IS indeed [K]'s friend...

The much anticipated [AFA X] took placed during the weekends and even though I'm not much of an otaku, nonetheless, it's still an event tt can't be missed...

I heard from [YH] and her bro I should expect a crowd even in the morning, so I decided to leave the house earlier for my [McDonalds'] heavy breakfast so tt I can effectively skip lunch, allowing me to have more time for the event...

I think I broke my own personal record of the time taken to travel from the MRT stn all the way to [SunTec]... It's as if I've equipped myself with the [Boots Of Travel] or something... LOL...

Well, I arrived @ the venue to find tt there's not much of a crowd yet and tt there's no queue @ ALL for the purchase of the tickets... I guess it's a [Sun] and everyone decided to slp in a little (well, I'm not complaining if there's not much crowd)...

$15 bucks poorer and I'm in the exhibition hall!!! WOOTS~!!!

Well, this time though, I think I was there a little too early, and hence, most of the cosplayers aren't there yet... So, instead of taking pics with cosplayers, I ended up taking more pics of the display items and soaking up the atmosphere, and basically enjoying myself...

[AniMax] has a booth for you to try dubbing and a promotion to win [AniMax] merchandise (shown in 2nd pic)... Haha, I obviously took the easiest way out by [4Squaring] and checking in @ tt location... @ least I get to earn some pts too what... LOL...

Got the umbrella instead of the t-shirt as I think tt since my current brolly isn't dmged or whatsoever, I won't be using it so soon, so it won't depreciate THAT quickly (assumption here is tt I'm using units-of-production depreciation) and I get to admire the brolly with the [AniMax] words on it for a longer period... ^_^

Okay, moving on, the long queue @ the maids' cafe kinda turned me off, so I decided to try out the other cafe next door...

THE BUTLERS' CAFE!!! It has a shorter queue and I'm dying to let HOT guys to wait on me... HAHA!!!

I've to order food and you might think tt the price tag might turn me off... It didn't... I actually paid $18 for [Set 3]...

And the actual thing turned out to be...

And my total expenditure for tt 45 mins stay is...

The remaining $7 is due to me deciding to take a pic with the butler tt's assigned to me, which cost $5 and me requesting to have another butler to be in the pic, which cost an additional $2... Yes, I'm mad to be spending so much $$$ just to take pics with ordinary ppl who aren't celebrities, but are smoking hot... *Shakes head*

Met up with [MJ] after the whole thing to head over to [Darrell]'s 21st b-day party...

A few pics here and there before my cam gave the alert tt the bat's dying soon, so I didn't snap tons of pics, which is kinda of a waste cause the condo - [Bontannia] - has an awesome clubhouse... The design makes it feel as if you're in some atas resort like tt lor...

More often than not, when I'm off window shopping, I'll usually come across shops tt sell quirky stuff... Ya know, bumper stickers tt goes '50 and still sexy' or something to tt extent... And most of the time, like most boutiques, taking pics of the merchandise isn't allowed...

While some would screw the warnings and take a snap when the salesperson isn't looking, I'd rather not do tt as the shots tt you take will end up being out of focus or just not perfect enough, given tt it's taken in a hurried...

So it's to my greatest delight when I spotted some files with interesting captions tt [Sis] bought, but didn't use... LOL... I couldn't resist taking pics of the 6 different files and blogging abt it, obviously...

If only ALL files come in designs like this... Tt way, more ppl will be smiling and the world will be a much happier place... *Insert blonde smile* ^_^

Since [Thurs] is my off day, yesterday was officially the start of my long weekend... However, considering tt I've classes on [Sat], [Thurs] & today is more like my [Sat] & [Sun]... So going by this logic, I'll be having [Mon] blues tmr as I wake up and head to sch... LOL... Gawd, this is totally messed up... -_-"'

Anyway, instead of being mildly productive, I spent the entire morning getting my [OSP Loan] done up... And checking out what mods I can take and should be mapping back here... I kinda feel a little screwed and freaked out as I couldn't find 5 mods tt has names almost similar to whatever tt's available back home... Or 3, the min. no. of mods tt I can take w/o delaying my graduation...

And not to forget tt according to a friend, the flight to [Vancouver] is freaking ex... Like $2k plus... And by pure logic, the price will definitely jack up as [Dec] nears... Zzz... I'm now eagerly looking forward to [11 Nov], the date of the pre-departure briefing... i need to meet up with the 4 other ppl who're going over to the same [PU] as me, and all 4 of them aren't from [Biz]... In other words, I'M THE ONLY [BIZ] STUD TT'S GOING THERE!!! Ugh, I'm totally defining the term 'loner'...

Anyway, headed to sch to submit the loan thingy before I sneaked into the toilet @ [MRB]

I'm fast running out of inspiration and topics to blog abt...

It's time to blog when there's a need and not blog weekly simply for the sake of blogging...

Well, last [Sat], I was supposed to be meeting [The Gang] for a trip to [K-Box]... I bailed out in the end because of a group proj meeting tt took place @ [SMU], of all places... *Sigh* Oh well, I guess I've been bitching abt tt particular mod and my group members wayyyyy too much and I shouldn't continue it here... I so do not wanna be reminded of it...

LOL... I've a tutorial prior tt and I've decided to take a few pics while waiting for class to start...

The consolation for tt day is tt I managed to travel back to [Lot 1] to meet a few of my friends for dinner... But before the dinner actually came, I managed to don the cloak of invisibility and sneaked into the room... And here're the evidence!!!

Dinner with [JY], [MJ], [Yuling] & [YH] was cool... Managed to do some catch up with them as well as to get an insight of what's happening to the others so far... Now this 2 hrs is what I call quality time... LOL~!!!

Anyway, I decided to chop of my messy locks on [Tue]... Despite the natural curls and the fact tt I think my hair colour has revert back to its default colour, I'm satisfied with the outcome to the effect tt I tried to take some pics of myself while I'm alone in the toilet...

I'm not sure abt others, but I think it's DAMN strange to be taking pics of yourself when there're others staring @ you... LOL... I'm self-conscious tt way... =D

My attempts to take more pics to get 'THAT BEST' shot was interrupted by some dude who decided to use the toilet... Oh well, guess I should head home and take the pic instead...

Ah-ha~!!! I think this isn't tt bad... Shall use this as my FB profile pic some time in the future... WAHAHAHA~!!! XD

[C] decided to stop by sch on [Wed], so I stayed back in sch to do a little catching up... Or rather, use tt opportunity as a training ground to level up my inner kpo-ness, which is currently @ skill lv. 1... On 1 hand, I kinda appreciate tt I was able to [HTHT] with him, but on the other, I kinda resent getting the puzzle pieces via such means... This is akin to getting the required puzzle pieces by duplicating the pieces or stealing from another similar puzzle...

Nonetheless, with new information, there is now clarity and like the lyrics from [Lily Allen]'s [LDN]: When you look with your eyes / Everything seems nice / But if you look twice / You can see it's all lies... How true...

I guess my blog posts are gonna be kinda sporadic from now on... Considering tt workload from sch are never ending, I've to constantly put to use my biz knowledge and do a cost-benefit analysis for every action tt intend to take before taking them...

Not tt I'll always choose the option tt maximizes my total benefit... LOL... Guess this shows tt I'm not really a rationale person... HAHA~!!!

Anyway, since my day is kinda busted already, I might as well blog a little to immortalize [Children's Day]... Or [I Love NUS Day] (-_-"')...

Me camwhoring before I head to sch after I took great pains to dress up for a 2 hrs lesson and a 1 hr test 6 hrs after the lesson... =P

Fast forward to after my test...

My final destination @ [MBS]...

I'm abt to enter not a hotel room, but an amazing $10k/night suite... It's seriously OMG... I feel like I'm walking and touching gold just by being there... Or like [Haruhi] who stumbled into the [3rd Music Room] tt's supposedly empty and stumbling upon the [Host Club] (GAH, I'm feeling nostalgic just thinking abt the anime)... *FAINTS*

A little of what the fabulous suite looks like... I should've used the video function and made a tour of the maze-like suite...

Well, there're like...

1 kitchen...
2 HUGE bedrooms, each with a WALK-IN CLOSET and toilet the size of my sis's room...
1 massage room...
1 fitness room with 2 - 3 gym equipments and a mini-sauna...
Another toilet the size of my bedroom (or bigger) with a jacuzzi...
AN ENORMOUS 'hall' with a round dining table, 2 LCD TVs facing back-to-back so there seems to be like 2 TV area, which 1 will be converted to a clubbing dance floor...
1 KARAOKE room...

Like I've mentioned... The experience is mind-blowing...

It's thru this tt I finally discovered tt I like the clubbing environment... Haha... I would classify myself as the 'Observer' type... I don't really do the dance floor thingy (Over my dead body will I do a [Bo Beep] or [Lady Gaga] dance)... But I kinda enjoy observing the crowd getting all hyped up and having a great time...

It's like orientation... I like the feel, but I don't wanna participate in it... -_-"'

Like tt shot of [Absolute Something] tt I drank in a gulp, once the burning sensation's over, it's time to sober up and return back to reality...

The recess wk is finally here!!! Okay, there's joyful abt it, since immediately after tt, I'll be sitting for my 2nd mid-terms on [Mon] evening... *SIGH*

So, I shall make use of tt 9 days to not only revise for my 4 mods, but to complete my tutorials and any other outstanding housekeeping issues, which includes:

1. Organizing my notes and tutorials so tt they're not all over the place...
2. Get started on [ACC1006] group project...
3. Get started on [ACC1006] individual project... Okay, this is supposed be for the 2nd half of the course, but since the lecturer has already told us what to do, maybe I should attempt it 1st... Then again, this assignment is really similar to the group project which I did for [DSC2006], which involves doing a critique on research articles... Gee... Technical jargons to swallow all over... -_-"'

I haven't even include the potential group meetings tt might be scheduled for [ES2002]... But if my group members really decide to meet in sch, I would wish tt they make it on [Thurs] so tt I can @ least go bother [SL] again... LOL!!!

And I've also planned to set aside 1 day for a trip to [Far East Plaza] or somewhere in town for some shopping... Gotta really get some

1. Decent shoes
2. Decent slippers
3. More nice tops
4. Some form of hoodie or additional top tt can be worn over primary top w/o feeling like I'm being transported to the [Sahara Desert]
5. Bottom, be it jeans or shorts or pants
6. More ankle socks (This is a possibility cause I haven't even opened the 3 pairs of new socks which I've bought like 8 mths ago... -_-"')

Anyway, before i sign off, here's something tt happened to me quite some time ago, just tt I didn't really have much time to blog abt it thanks to the crazy workload tt I'm experiencing this sem...

This was what happened to my thumbdrive when I tried to insert it into the [CL]'s com abt 2 wks back... The casing just burst open... Luckily, the thing still can be read and I could still print out my notes cum tutorials...

Time To Get My Act Together...

I seriously have to stop [FB]-ing this excessive... By this, I really mean the gaming part, mostly... The stalking part is still relatively insignificant in terms of the time spent on it...

I'm proud to announce tt I've scaled down on my involvement in [HC] and [Farmville], so effectively, I'm only concentrating on [RC] and [CW]... Even tt involvement is really just to ensure tt the restaurant continues to run and a few other stuff... For [RC], it's to unlock dishes and to continue getting more ingredients... [CW], it's merely to prevent my dishes from turning bad and to lv. up...

With wk 4 of sch starting tml and me pratically drowning in the heavy workload, I've come to realise tt time is really of the essence and I seriously need to spend it wisely... Of course, I could be really anal here and start rambling on abt linear programming, but I guess I'll piss the hell out of [XP] another time, another day... For now, I have to strive to get a balance on work, doing the necessary non-work stuff and having some fun... Procrastination has gotta stop!!!

Well... I guess I should get started with what I've been telling myself these past few wks and really get down to managing the pics which I've taken 2 wks back as well as those tt I took yesterday...

Start Of A New Semester!!!

I used to love hols when I was little, or up till a couple of yrs back, cause I get to play all I want and there's no guilt for simply bumming around... However, everything changed the moment I completed [NS]... Now, bumming seems like an utter sin and there's this unreasonable fear of either my brain degenerating into mush or tt I'll contract the illness of old, where I simply refuse to absorb new things in my life...

Anyway, now tt sch has started, I've more stuff to occupy my time with and the best thing of all is tt I can get to see all the freshies!!! HAHA... I'm shameless to admit tt I've been looking forward to me becoming a senior so tt I can ogle @ the shuai freshies tt've decided to enroll themselves into [NUS Business School] or any other facs for tt matter... Eye candies FTW~!!!

Well, eye candies are 1 thing... Having them as friends is another and the latter is next to impossible... Which brings me to the next thing which I've been pondering abt for quite some time... Unknowingly, I've stumbled upon a few good looking guys and despite my attempts to befriend them, I still feel tt there's still a distance, as if we're merely acquaintances...

There're times when I simply feel like just giving up this mindless pursuit and simply be contented with friends tt I've made... Even though they're predominantly female, they're totally awesome and fun to be with... On the other side of the coin is my other self telling me to persevere and maybe, just maybe, I'll be rewarded... After all, it was due to pure stubbornness tt I kept clinging to [SL] and we ended up being friends...

Tt's the bright side, and after typing tt, I couldn't stop myself from considering the time and effort tt I've invested on [SL]... It took me 6 yrs... Okay, tt's totally 'wow'... Like, I need 6 yrs to make a friend??? -_-"'

I guess the facts are there and they're all not in my favour to actually try to foster some serious friendship online... Yet affairs of the heart are never logical and this is why I'm struggling... I'm too used to making rational decisions such tt asking me to follow my heart and make a choice when my brain tells me otherwise is really like throwing me from the baby pool to a shark infested ocean and expecting me to escape from the jaws of the hungry carnivorous sharks...

I believe it's time to really set some things in motion so tt I can be a better person...

Okay, I should not let this blog (as well as all those 300+ entries) head into the bottomless pit of oblivion... After reading through [SH]'s past entries and having a laugh out of all the unglam pics of [Cass], ha~... The memories of the good old times really stirred up some feelings of nostalgia...

Perhaps when I've really got nth better to do, when I'm bored till I'm abt to rip my hair out of my scalp, I'll probably look through all the posts which I've done since sec sch, and roll my eyes @ the current state tt I'm in...

It's debatable whether I'll eventually outgrow gaming... I mean, ever since [Sec 1] when I started playing [NeoPets], I've always been playing some form of games, be it on the com or on my [PS] - which I think can no longer be functional, death by gagging on dust motes... I've definitely outgrown [NeoPets], but I'm still playing [MS] and [Audi] once in a while just for kicks and nowadays, I'm getting addicted to all the [FB] games...

I've always attributed it to the competitive side of me trying to maintain the position tt I'm in in the game, but I guess if I'm truly competitive, I would've channeled my energy to my studies instead and try to achieve an A for all my mods, which of course, isn't happening...

LOL... So the truth is, I've never learn to accept the reality of this world... I've been shutting myself out from the world tt [Popeys] @ [SG Flyer] is really a new thing and what office politics which I've seen during my [SAF] days are nth buy child play as compared to what horrors some of my colleagues faced @ [DCI] in the past...

Speaking abt [DCI], I've decided to head back to work for half a day this coming [Tue] to clear all my work instead of giving it to another colleague... I still think it's only right to take the responsibility to clear your work if you're able to before really leaving as well as not screw up too much... After all, it serves to my disadvantage if I leave with a bad rep...

I might not be good @ networking, but I sure as hell know how to stay unnoticed and not attract too much attention... =D

As I start type this entry, I couldn't help but be reminded of [Takagi Fujimaru] from the [Bloody Monday] drama... How the hackers could simply type non-stop to hack into wherever they like as long as they're up to the challenge...

Well, the marvelling of the hackers only lasted for a few milliseconds... The marvel @ how good looking [Takagi] is though, is much longer though I've to admit tt I'm not as crazy as I was in the past to actually DL all the pics of him to occupy the 500GB of hard disk space tt I have...

Let's start this off with something interesting... Apparently, my colleagues @ work are all into goofing around, as the pic below suggest...

Yeah, maybe tt'll lighten the mood a little before I dwell onto something tt's a little emo-ish...

My sis has left for [Korea] yesterday for her cultural exchange programme... I won't be seeing her for the next 3 wks and I sure as hell hope tt the least she could do is to update her FB profile so tt when I'm on my stalking routine, I'll be able to keep up to date on what's happening...

Or maybe when she's using her iTouch and there's wifi, she could @ least use the [IM+ Lite] app to get onto [MSN] so tt we can chat...

*Sigh* The house's gonna be rather quiet for the next 3 wks... And as I'm blogging abt yesterday's trip to the airport, gah, there's this strange feeling in my chest... Is it me missing her already???

While @ the airport, we did a lot of photo-taking but this is the best of all... [Sis] brought her soft toy along so tt she could hug it while sleeping... HAHA!!! =D

It's been quite a while since I've actually been to the airport, unlike [K] who told me tt he actually goes there like on a weekly basis for [TCC] because it's only a 15 mins bus ride from his house... Zzz... -_-"'

Well, I've decided to head over to the airport 1 day just to take a walk around there to marvel @ the design of the new [T3], peek @ all the shops there and if there's still time, perhaps head over to [T2] to ppl watch while sip some delicious ice-blended mocha from [The Coffee Bean]...

Or rather, head over to [Secret Recipe] for their cheesecake...

The 2 items tt I had for dinner yesterday... Again, it's only after I took a bite of the cheesecake tt I remember tt I should've took a pic of it 1st before indulging in it... Haiz... -_-

The most sinful place is just staring right @ me opposite from where I'm sitting!!!

What has kept me entertained in the past 5 yrs ago has still kept me entertained 5 yrs later... [MapleStory] is already 5 yrs old and I'm still not sick of it despite lacking the time to really play for long hrs on end or the fact tt my main character has already been hacked once...

With the introduction of the new character: [Evan: Dragon Master], how could I ever get bored with it??? So, I got myself sucked into the work of [MapleStory] again by creating [Evan] on another server... Boy am i greeted with tons of changes...

For some reason, some of the [Blue Mushrooms] have started crying...

[Evan: Dragon Master]... The dragon's kinda cute only @ lower levels... Kinda of a pity though... =S

Furthermore, [Evan: Dragon Master] is indeed a tough hero to play as the character is similar in terms of stats requirements for the [Magician] class, except tt [Evan] lacks the skill [Increase MP Recovery], which means tt [Evan] will be stuck with a MP regen rate of 0.3 MP/s... Furthermore, in order to learn all the skills, it's a must to complete the [Evan]'s quest as those will reward you with 1SP for every quest completed.... Haha... I guess tt's some form of incentives for you to do quests instead of just senselessly wacking the cute monsters...

Oh, and [MS] is having celebrating it's 5th anniversary with some wacky drops tt can transform you to some random NPC or monster...

I didn't really keep track, but I do believe tt it has indeed been more than 2 wks since I've last done any blogging... Really, ever since I've started working, not only does time seems to fly extreme fast, but I've also been extremely tired... It's like the work is some sorta energy black hole... Even though all I only do is to sit around staring @ the com and answering phone calls, I absolutely feel like crap every time I'm back home...

Spending 1 hr on managing all my [FB] games is all I can manage before I couldn't take it anymore and hit the sacks...

Okay, perhaps I should back track a little... I did took up [SH]'s offer to work @ [Diners' Club (Singapore)] and it has been 3 wks already... And I used to think tt answering customers' queries over the phone requires tons of flexibility, with different ppl calling in... Yet after this short exp, I've come to realised tt the job is quite repetitive nonetheless and I'm using this as a form of motivation... LOL... Yeah, repetition and not much changes motivates me... The added bonus is tt all my interaction with the customers are over the phone, which is even better as I don't have to meet anyone @ all and frankly speaking, I'm more comfortable tt way...

Anyway, just barely 2 wks into my new job, I tio-ed the office infamous 'donut'...

Just kidding... It's punishment for not locking my com when I left the office... And the infamous donut implies tt you've to treat everyone in the office to some sort of edible item... Luckily, I don't have to do the treating immediately and to date, there're like 7 ppl sharing the burden... Which is good as I've been overspending lately...

Well, I can understand the reason for this interesting way of reminding ppl to lock their coms for security reasons... Besides, after tt 1 lesson, I'm more cautious and it's a good thing tt when I was still in the [SAF], I was also trained, in some sense, to lock my com whenever I've to leave my desk... ^_^

After work, it's time to enjoy a little of the famous [Koi] bubble tea... Well, I didn't enjoy it, I was just accompanying the buyer and decided to snap a shot...

Oh, with [SH] around, work is never boring...

Anyway, on [Vesak Day], [The Gang] decided to meet up since it's a public hol and most of us were free... So we decided to head to the [Helix Bridge] for some sight seeing machiam like tourists like tt... Just w/o the tour guide holding a flag and straw hats... HAHA... =P

We were supposed to meet @ 1200 hrs, [JE] stn, but the organizer A.K.A [MJ], actually overslept because her phone bat died, resulting in her alarm clock not going off... As a result, we were delayed...

But it turned out not to be very cheesy, as compared to what I've tried @ [Fish & Co]... Well, @ least the serving's decent for $6.50

I've decided to do a little bit of cam-whoring after all... LOL!!! ^_^

Well, it was a good experience and I do feel tt [Minds Cafe] actually offer better deals as compared to [Settlers' Cafe]... On weekdays, 4 hrs of gaming only cost $5 and tt includes free flow of drinks... If you wanna eat a proper meal, it'll cost an additional $6.50... On weekends, the 4 hrs of gaming and free flow of drinks cost $10... The pt is, a meal is provided!!!

Well, I'll just remember not to take the circle line from [Bishan] the next time I actually decided to head there again... Tt train ride takes wayyyyy too much time!!! -_-"'

Ta-da~!!! Me and [Sis] just secs before we left the house...

And where are we going??? We're heading to [McDonald's] for breakfast because I was having the cravings for the hotcakes... HAHA...

Once breakfast was over, [Sis] took out her [Korean] stuff to read before meeting her exchange buds to learn more and I decided to kpo a little... Much to my surprise, it's quite interesting... It's like drawing circles, squares and straight lines to represent consonants and vowels... Totally reminded me of the drawings from the cavemen era... HAHA~!!! =P

Anyway, @ abt 1030 hrs, [Sis] has to leave for [NYP], so I'm left to kill time all by myself... So I took out my novel and read till abt like 1115 hrs before wandering to the entrance of [Lot 1] to wait for [Yuling], [MJ], [SH] and [JY]...

It turns out tt [JY] will be kinda delayed but nonetheless, the rest of us decided to head out to shop for [XP]'s prezzie... Setting a budget in mind, we 1st thought of buying watches, but after looking @ a few designs, we've no choice but to abandon the idea as all the nice, cool, boomz designs are wayyyyy outta our budget...

In the end, aside from [SH] goofing around and reciting the script from [Avatar], trying to distract us, we managed to settle on a 8 GB, thumbdrive, an iPhone cover (of sorts cause it hardly protects anything, but ppl still buys it) and an anti-glare screen protector...

Once [JY] met up with us, we headed to [BB Stn]... While waiting for [SH] who went to draw some cash from the ATM, we saw [YH] and [Bec] who came from their [Korean] lessons @ [JE]...

When we finally got to [XP]'s, most of the food's almost ready, but before we actually tucked into it as we're waiting for the rest of [XP]'s friends and [Cass] to arrive, we decided to play a little bit of [Uno Stacko]...

Seem like [Bec] really can't stand the excitement and needed a drink to calm herself down... LOL... =P

A few of us were playing while the rest decided to watch [Erin Brockovich]... However, after 1 round of the game, with me losing because of [MJ] who decided to create an artificial gust of moving air molecules with her mouth, causing the already wobbly blocks to toppl, all of us decided to watch the movie anyway as it's quite interesting and meaningful...

[Cass] arrived soon after and I was presented with a belated b-day card...

Haha... Arigato~!!!

Lunch was so-so for me as I didn't really eat much, except for the curry and the bread... It's a wee bit spicy, but I still ate quite a lot of bread with the curry as I feel tt it's better than eating rice... Besides, the potatoes are yummy too... Haha... Yeah... I kinda like to eat those potatoes tt're found in the curry, provided tt the curry isn't THAT spicy of course... ^_^

The spring rolls stuffed with bananas and prawns are not too bad, though if it's only stuffed with bananas -... Wait, then I might as well have friend bananas, right??? =P

The mango and prawn salad is nice... Well, the mangoes are nice as they're not sour and tt's all tt matters... Of course, I didn't consume any of the prawns...

After the lunch, I interacted a little with [XP]'s friends before [SH] decided tt ice-cream is a must and decided to head to the nearby [West Mall] to get some ice-cream...

As you can see (or maybe not), I decided to be rather selfish and bought [Udders] ice-cream all for myself... [ChocoMarsh] & [Gila Melaka]... Yummy... [JY] took some alcoholic-flavored ice-cream and [SH] bought a tub of [Ben & Jerry's]...

Anyway, when we got back, the gang was just sitting around gossiping while [XP] was playing the card-game version of [Monopoly], which I find quite challenging... Well, I was trying to understand the game and attempting to be [XP]'s financial advisor, so I didn't really quite notice what was going around me, but I kinda noticed [SH] cam-pimping, AS USUAL...

I stayed till around 1730 hrs before I made my way down to [JE] to do something to my messy lock of hair... And the end result is...

Well, with such a start, it's rather obvious tt there's gonna be some bad news... It wasn't bad, bad... More like newsflash tt doesn't fall into the category where you'll laugh and jump for joy...

Me planning for this mth's gang outing was shingz-ed after [MJ] suddenly bailed and [Darrell] was too drained from attending his friend's 21st the previous day... The attendance was already so poor and with 2 more absentee, it was pointless, of sorts, which is why I've decided to postpone this cycling event indefinitely...

*Sigh*

The only thing tt can be deemed as a consolation is tt [XP]'s kinda holding her b-day celebration (of sorts) tml and I guess we can consider it as another gang gathering even though some of [XP]'s [Kendo] friends will also be present, not tt it'll matter much anyway... Haha...

Speaking of [XP]'s b-day celebration, as per the b-day gal wish, it'll just be a lunch and games event which will definitely not include any cakes... Even though there'll be some mild displeasure among the ppl who'll be attending, I suppose, it'll be a HUGE prob for me as I absolutely love pastries!!!

*Yet another sigh* I guess this can't be helped tough... Haha... Anyway, I guess I should do a little control as I've been letting my sweet tooth enjoy a wee bit too much sweet stuff lately... Not only will I crave for more glucose, fructose, and any other compounds with a -ose @ the end like a freaking drug addict, I'll also inflate considering tt [Ah Ming] once mentioned tt the metabolism will start to slow down once we've reached the mid-20s...

I'm nearly there, so I better watch it or else, I'll develop some unsightly belly... *Faints*

Rantings aside, I've still been bumming abt, but I've also been reading the papers... There's a spare copy and it's always nice to catch up on current affairs... However, after reading some of the articles, I do wish tt they were published like 1 mth earlier, cause the articles on [SG] taking 1st place globally in terms of business competitiveness as well as the issue on fathers taking a more active role in parenting would surely help me out for both my [BSP2005] & [MNO1001] mods respectively...

Well, after chiong-ing like 2 animes - [07-Ghost] & [KuroKami] -in 4 days, I'll admit, it's indeed overkill... This is because even though the animes are interesting and exciting (overall, as the ending for [07-Ghost] kinda suck as the manga isn't complete, so I've heard)... Once I'm done with it, I'm back to bumming abt... Which is why for my current J drama - [Bloody Monday], I'm not gonna rush and shall limit myself to a max of 2 episodes in a day, which translates to me taking a max of 10 days to complete the anime...

Not tt this is gonna be an issue anymore as I've kinda got myself employed for the remaining of my hols, thanks to [SH]... Apparently, [Diners Club] is looking for more temp staff and it was kinda nice *cough* of [SH] to let us know tt there're some lobangs for us... I'm not into the pay though $60/day is a nice paycheck for a temp job...

Considering tt I'm working from 0830 hrs to 1800 hrs with a 1 hr lunch break, tt $60 roughly translate to $7.06/ hr (3 s.f)...

Nonetheless, now my parents will no longer nag, I'll have extra pocket money to splurge - not tt I'll do anything like tt, the most impt thing is tt it'll help me in my quest to fill my CV to a full page...

Ha~... When [SH] 1st SMS-ed me abt this lobang, my initial reaction was to reject instead of thinking abt it 1st and so I did just tt... Reject the offer w/o a 2nd thought... It's only after I've rejected it tt I decided to give it some thought... After all, here was a job opportunity presented to me in a platter... I don't have to source high and low for it nor wait for the right 1 to come popping by from the [Biz Career Services Centre] - those jobs have scary looking job descriptions *insert scared look of your choice*...

I admit, doing a customer services job seems kinda outta my league, but hey, if I don't try, I'll never know for sure... Besides, no one is born knowing EVERYTHING, and with practice, I'm sure to get the hang of it... Furthermore, such interaction with ppl, even if it's only via a phone, is a good learning exp considering tt I'm from the [Biz] fac...

And like I've mention, this will helped me to add more stuff to my resume and allow me to be equipped with another new skill sets which I don't possess @ all...

'If something's too good to be true, it probably is...' I should've read the description carefully before installing the [Social City] app abt a wk ago... Well, it isn't tt I've to pay ka-ching or anything to continue using it... It's tt the app only allows you to collect your contracts for free, on-the-go for the 1st wk... Once the time's up, you'll have to PAY CITY BUCKS in order to collect your contracts (in-game coins and exp) as well as get the factories working on new contracts...

Seriously, WTH... Then again, maybe tt's the whole pt as it'll be an unfair advantage over those ppl who doesn't own an [iPhone] or have the app...

@ least I can still clean my leisure buildings to generate a little bit of extra coins plus increase my population to its limit, which will also give me some puny exp... Which is better than nth anyway... =D

Besides tt revelation, I also met up with [Ah Ming] after I've completed my errands @ the bank for lunch as well as to borrow his comics... Before I actually collected the comics from him, we had lunch and my initial thought was to have something quite budget... However, as it turns out, I ended up eating [PastaMania]... -_-"'

Now, it would still be counted as being budget if all i ordered was a mere plate of pasta, and the cheapest kind @ tt... But, I ordered [Creamy Chicken] and the [Cheese Sticks] combo, which brought my expenses to abt $14.40 or so... Yep, tt's budget for me... HAHA...

Once the meal was over, I checked out the various volumes of comics which he brought out as I couldn't remember where I stopped reading @... LOL... I was hoping tt I have more volumes to read... As it turns out, I only didn't read the issues tt were out since Jan, which means tt I've only like 5 issues to cover, which can easily be completed in 2 days, max...

Note to self: Gotta find more stuff to kill time with...

Tt's [Wed]... [Thurs], well, tt's my b-day and I've no choice but to accept tt I'm 22 this yr, on the outside... Like what [XP] wrote on my wall, mentality-wise, I've finally reached my tens and am eligible to watch PG shows w/o parental guidance... WOOHOO~!!! LOL... -_-"'

In the afternoon though, I was @ [JP] out on another blind date (sort of)... Headed to [Pizza Hut] to try out the new cheesy pizza tt have cornflakes on em' and it was not too bad... The zhong dian of course, wasn't on the date or the lunch as it was only a shun bian thingy... My main mission was to collect my b-day cake from [Bakerzin] and once my mission is over, I'm back home to do more rotting in front of my com by managing my [FB] games as well as play a few rounds of [PvZ] to earn more money and move a few more inches closer to achieving the gold award in the game...

After dinner, @ abt [2000 hrs], my house was under attack...

*GASP* A surprise visit!!!

The 3 gals attempted to get me to make wild guesses on what they bought for me from [NTUC]... It was a fail attempt as not only does [NTUC] stock TENS OF THOUSANDS of items, I hardly enter [NTUC] too and so, it's really FREAKING TOUGH to even make a while guess as to what they bought... And they're so tight-lipped as to not provide a hint too... *Pouts*

After stoning for a while longer and with nth much to do, we decided to do the cake-cutting ceremony... HAHA... But before the pics of those, TA-DA~!!! The awesome [Oreo Cheesecake]!!! *Drools*

Okay la, it's not exactly THAT fantastic as most ppl find tt it's too cheesy... Though I don't think so (probably due to my already destroyed tastebuds, LOL...)...

Mother's Day...

Yesterday was the 2nd [Sunday] of the mth, which means tt it's [Mother's Day]... As the name suggest, it's supposed to be all abt my mum... But as it turns out, yesterday's trip to [313@SOmerset] turns out to be yet another shopping spree of mine...

Even though everyone did buy something, I bought the most stuff and I didn't even use my own cash... HAHA... Opps...

We arrived @ the shopping center @ abt 1600 hrs and walked around a little while waiting for [Dad] as he headed to [IFC] to place a deposit for the purchase of 2 new chairs tt're for me and [Sis]... Apart from the slippers which caught my eyes @ [BlackHammer], I didn't really took a fancy to anything else as I accompanied [Mum] while she walked abt here and there...

[Dad] came not too long after and we decided to take our early dinner 1st @ [Marche]... Which is perfectly fine by me as the thought of rosti and crepes simply made my stomach grumble and mouth water...

Spent abt 2 hrs there slowly eating and it was kinda of a nice meal... [Mum] started snapping pics here and there, which reaffirms both me and [Sis]'s belief tt both of us to varying degrees, did inherit her zi lian genes... LOL...

Surprisingly, I bumped into [DH] and her BF there... HAHA...So qiao... And to think tt I won't be seeing any of my uni friends till sch reopens... =P

Once dinner is done and everyone's stuffed, we headed to [Uniqlo] 1st as I wanted to buy jeans... I used to think tt jeans make my butt looks fat, but after trying 2 different cuttings... I'm more comfy with regular straight fit and not slim fit... I didn't even think abt trying any of those skinny jeans... Haha... Nonetheless, I think I spent like quite a long time in deciding tt I really, really wanna buy them...

So I bought 2 of them with the blue one costing $49.90 after a $20 discount and a black one tt cost $39.90...

Current status: Cash spent = $89.80

We spent a little more time walking around as [Sis] was trying to locate the right size for her [Sabrina] jeans and when it's evident tt there's no more stock, she tried to look for some leggings which didn't go very well too as she can't find any tt's of a length tt she wants... =(

Next, we headed to [G2000] and we spent lesser time there as all we did was select the correct size of the shirt, which was 15.5... Then from the 8 different colours or so, my family helped me to select the colours as I so do not wanna wear what I think was white while, god forbid, it's actually pink... GAH...

Status update: Cash spent = $41.65 as there's a 15% discount for purchases as long as you're an NTUC card holder... ^_^

The next stop was [The Coffee Bean] and we were chillaxing and sipping our mocha when the topic of shoes was discussed and seeing tt [BlackHammer] was just across from where we wer seating, [Dad] decided to have a look @ the slippers tt I'm interested in... And after thinking for a while, torn b/w whether I should get white or brown, the decision finally shifted to brown and there!!! A new pair of slippers to replace the one tt's beyond repair...

Status update II: Cash spent = $29...

Wahahahaha... It was a very rewarding day for me as I finally got some new stuff to mix and match... Even my sis who almost couldn't find a jeans finally found 1 tt she liked @ [Levi's]...

Ha~... Off to enjoy the rest of my day staring @ the com... ^_^

A Walk In The East

My initial plan yesterday was to window shop all 3 malls tt're within walking distance from [Tampines] MRT Stn... And like all plans of mine, it's too noble...

Even though I was alone, I spent the entire afternoon walking the whole of [Tampines 1]... It's amazing how I could actually accomplish tt considering tt yesterday was actually my 3rd time there...

Okay, okay, before I actually talked abt the entire window shopping exp, the train ride was kinda mundane... I couldn't find a seat till I was around [City Hall] and [K] wasn't replying to my plea for entertainment until after I arrived @ the shopping mall... Zzz... =S

I was reduced to listening to only my songs and gawk @ the commuters... And towards the end of my train journey, I saw this lady... She was really tall (partly thanks to her high heels) and wearing a micro skirt... OMG micro... I guess she just wanna flaunt those long legs of hers tt're on par with those [Korean] girl bands gals...

Tt's it for my uneventful train trip...

Once I arrived @ [Tampines 1], I headed all the way to the top floor and window shopped downwards, checking almost all the stores and hoping to buy something for myself and for [Mother's Day]...

No tops, bottoms or shoes was boomz enough to catch my eyes, though the [Options] wallets are kinda funky and as compared to my current hand-me-down wallet, it even has more card compartments, so tt got me thinking if I should really get one...

Then I headed to [Uniqlo] and remembering the conver I had with my cousin when she came over for a visit, I decided to give a shot @ jeans again... Of course, being a jeans moron, I've no idea what kinda jeans suit me... So ignoring the skinny jeans which I know I should never, ever wear, I picked up the black regular jeans and tried it on... To find tt maybe I could be trained to get used to the lower waist feel and hence, open up more options as to what I can mix and match in my wardrobe...

So I returned the jeans and made a mental note to get better opinions on [Sun]... The same goes to my trip to [G2000]... [NTUC Members] are entitled to a whopping 15% discount on top of the promo tt the store is currently have, so I shall wait till I'm out with my family this coming [Sun] to [313@Somerset] before I actually do some purchases...

The moment i window shopped till the ground floor, which was abt 15300 hrs, I was totally starved (I skipped lunch as I had 3 baos for breakfast)... So, after tahaning for another 30 mins, while I jumped from [Secret Recipe] to [Bakerzin] deciding where I should buy the cake, I finally settled on the latter as collecting the cake is so much more convenient and it's slightly cheaper... Plus, the male waiter is kinda cute... Ahahahaha... *Drools*

Old habits die hard, I suppose... -_-"'

Once I'm done with my cake ordering, I initially wanted to head over to [Pizza Hut] for my lunch/dinner as the lunch promo isn't over yet... But, after considering tt I traveled all the way to [Tampines 1], I should eat something tt I couldn't normally find @ [Lot 1], so I changed my mind and had [Secret Recipe] instead...

Tea-time meal was on and tt consist of a cake set or a brownie set... I chose the former and of all the choice of drinks tt I can choose from - coffee, flavoured tea ([Ceylon], [Jasmine], [Peppermint]) or ice lemon tea, I just have to choose [Peppermint]... It turns out tt [Peppermint] only taste good or nice when it's in bubble tea... And not when it's served hot...

Luckily my stomach didn't rebel and waste my $22.15 meal...

My meal!!! [Chicken Cordon Bleu]... The chicken cutlet has ham and cheese stuffed in it and the cheese oozes out when I cut it... OMG~!!! ^_^

[Cappuccino Cheesecake]... I took a bite before remembering tt I've yet to take a pic of it... HAHA... Anyway, it was kinda of a wrong choice as I couldn't really taste the cheese in the cheesecake, only the cappuccino... And to think tt I almost wanted to order this for my b-day cake... Phew!!!

Once I'm done with my meal, I continued my window shopping on the basement floor before heading back to the ground floor to purchase my [Mother's Day] gift... I'm really @ a lost of ideas on what to buy and in the end, I decided to settle for a necklace tt cost a whopping $80 before the discount... There was a 20% off and I seriously hope tt [Mum] likes it even though it's kinda simple... *Fingers crossed*

I also hoped tt when my sis saw it (she's sharing, of course), she'll think it's okay too as my taste in accessories is really questionable... -_-"'

Camped @ [Times] to read a novel for 90 mins before I decided tt it's too cold and rather late and tt I should be going home... LOL...

For the record, I'm not dead and neither is this blog... The past few weeks have really been hectic to such an extent tt I've decided to let my muse go on some much needed vacation and not force it to provide me with inspiration every wk for close to an hr each session...

Well, now tt my projects have all been submitted and my final exams have concluded yesterday, I'm OFFICIALLY ON VACATION (though for the past few wks, I've been on holiday mood every now and then too... =P)

I guess I shall not brood over the exams and how I think I fared... It's OVER and rather than worry abt how horrible I've performed, I should just chillax till the results are out sometime in the near future... HAHA... Yeah, I haven't even checked when the results will be made known to us... -_-"'

I'm getting lazy and it's time to really do something abt it... Should start getting organised all over...

Anyway, I guess I shall only talk abt the post-exams celebration... After [BSP1004], the class (or the majority of the class), decided to head over to [Holland V]... It's quite duh, but we really have 2 hrs of free time to kill and therefore, decided to head over there 1st before deciding on our next course of action...

@ abt 1600 hrs, we arrived @ the entrance of [Crystal Jade La Mian Xiao Long Bao]... I'm all for simply stoning and crapping for the remaining 1 hr as well as play my role of being the paparazzi, but it seems like the rest are totally restless and therefore, we went shopping...

The 1st stop??? [Cold Storage]... Yes!!! We were reduced to the stage where we have to shop inside a grocery store... GAH~!!! -_-"'

Well, seeing tt it's a grocery store and no reasonable person would buy any food knowing tt we'll be having a buffet, all of us decided to head to the next floor to do more window shop... Okay, we aren't really window shopping... We were practically walking, chatting and totally disregarding the existence of the shops there... Betcha the store owners were cursing us once we walked past w/o even looking @ the shops... LOL!!!

The shopping center was uber CMI with no down escalators, merely stairs and a lift tt can only house like 9 ppl max... Zzz... =S

Moving on... Once we're done wasting close to 2 hrs of out life, we went back to the restaurant's entrance...

More stoning... OMG... =S

The restaurant finally allowed us entry and we immediately chiong to the seat reserved for us... Alas, we have to split up as there wasn't any table big enough to house all 14 of us... Haiz...

And I successfully ate like 15 of those delicious and totally sinful baos before helping to clear a little bit of the steamboat by eating some of the pork slices and... You guessed it... BALLS... Ahahahahaha...

I didn't get a chance to eat any ice-cream as my friends have decided to head over to [Marina Bay Sands] after the buffet to check out the double-helix DNA inspired bridge, so there aren't any company... And I'm not abt to travel all the way to [Marina Bay Sands] and not fully enjoy the scenic view or fully appreciate the bridge due to it being after sundown...

Yes, I headed home... I shall enjoy the magnificent view of tt bridge some other time... Hopefully, in the near future... =)

Wow... It's been slightly over 2 mths since I've last blogged and the backlog is really building... The only way to clear all 10 backlog entries is for me to blog more during the hols, after my finals and I think should be easily achievable considering tt I've yet to find an internship or have ANY intention to actually find a part-time job for tt matter...

Haha... My inner slacker has finally been developed after being bombarded by the unrelenting stress tt I've been subjected to ever since I've officially started my 2nd sem... The heavy workload of 4 concurrent projects is almost unbearable and short of having a mental breakdown as I hardly ever experienced any actual failure before, I've been feeling this sense of lack of motivation...

On certain days, I'm feeling miserable tt I've so much to do and I don't really wanna do any of it... But if I don't do it, I kinda get demoralized, and to motivate myself, I'll attempt to be more hardworking... However, this is a vicious cycle as attempting to be hardworking naturally equates to completing all my tutorials and being on time for whatever I'm supposed to do for all my projects, which leads to the feeling of having too much to do...

And not to forget tt I'm still to a certain extent, feeling a little sad tt I'm still single and not attached... Which I know tt this can't be forced, hence the 'to a little extent' part...

Anyway, since I'm slacking, I've decided to just slack the night away since I'm a little tired to really think... And thinking is really crucial when you're trying to attempt tutorials for [BSP1004 Legal Environment Of Business] when what's really important is your thought processes on how you tackle the question...

So, yeah... This will have to be left for tml when my brain is not as sluggish...

Today has been quite a good day as it's the mthly gang gathering... This time, we headed to [XP]'s house for a movie marathon... I didn't really watch much movies, but hey, my presence is all tt counts lor...

Well, before we actually arrived @ [XP]'s house, we were supposed to meet up @ [BB Stn]... [Cass] was late because she was SHITTING AND IT TOOK LONGER THAN EXPECTED, which caused her to be slightly late as she left the house @ 1051 hrs... Mind you, we're supposed to meet @ 1100 hrs okay...

As we waited for her, we decided to head to [Udders] and this time, I'm super proud of myself because I didn't spend any moneh on those costly ice-cream!!! Yayyy~!!! 3 cheers for [~LeiLa~]!!!

Though this 'not-giving-in-to-temptation' didn't last long as I actually managed to like credit whatever cash tt I have in my wallet ($17 plus) and debit it to all kinda expense... *SIGH*

When the cavalry arrived @ [XP]'s house, we started of with [My GF Is An Agent] and tt's when our [Pizza Hut] was delivered... The [Trio Cheese] was not too bad, though I think it's not really worth it to like spend big bucks only on cheese as on a practical pt of view, my taste buds are quite screwed-up, so I can't really appreciate it anyway...

Moving on, like I've mentioned, I didn't really like watch the movies cause I was attempting to do some of the tutorials tt I'm supposed to do for this wk, so I was like half doing my work, half talking to everybody... After all, I've watched the movies le what...

I can't really remember whatever was shown after tt 1st movie, but the next one was [Avatar], AGAIN!!! -_-"'

We then moved on to [Old Dogs], but not before watching [Bedtime Story]... For the latter, I kinda find it interesting, but since the majority found it boring, I couldn't do anything, so as they watched the former, I retreated to the corner of the hall to work on my laptop... By tt time, I've like more or less did whatever I felt like doing for my [ACC1002] tutorial, so I just worked a little on 1 of my project report and basically spend more time on [FaceBook] and fidgeting abt because I've crossed my legs for wayyyyy too long and it's cramping... Zzz... -_-"'

Once [Old Dog]'s over, we called it a day and [MJ] & I headed back to [Lot 1] for dinner, [PastaMania]...

It's only the 2nd week of sch and I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed already... Well, I should've seen this coming when I haven't been doing my tutorials tt're due next wk and waiting till only [Thurs] before I got started with the tasks...

And tt's only when I realised tt I've to spend some time, effort and even more murder of brain cells to come up with a decent CV... Well, on [Wed] I've had my [BFS1001: Career Planning And Management] module and this wk was all abt CV and cover letters... Man, the way the facilitators said it, it seems like it's quite a daunting task... Little did I realised tt the difficulty of doing a decent resume increases exponentially when you have more achievements, CCA, work experience, etc. as when you're applying for a certain job, you've to place the relevant details in your CV, which means tt you have to filter through all your experience and pick the right one...

And herein lies my prob... I've absolutely NOTHING worthy or desirable to add in my resume apart from the very basics like my fantastic CAP tt'll be able to allow me to stand out from the masses... In the end, my resume was only half a page, a far cry from the maximum 1 page... *Sigh*

Time to really consider a student exchange programe as well as to pick up another language or 2...

Ha~... Well, this wk wasn't really tt exciting, apart from me spending yet another 2 hrs of my time in sch to hang out with [SL] and getting my replacement phone ruined... YES!!! I've like, destroyed yet another phone in the short span of 1 mth!!! GAH~!!! Ugh...

I accidentally bumped into a corner of a table and it smashed the screen of the phone tt's in my pocket... -_-"'

Unknowningly, 5 days have passed and it's the end of wk 1... And I've yet to switched back to the study mode... OMG...

Okay, I shall follow [Maka Albarn]'s way of dealing... Converting fear to strength and use it to overcome all odds and obstacles!!! In this case, it'll be maintaining my grades @ such perfect lv and not get too many Cs... Tt's 1 of the criteria tt's requred for [SEP]...

Yep, after what the [Biz Career Services] adviced and what I've been hearing from my friends, I guess I should really take some time away from all those [RC] and [Cafe World]... Sit in front of my com, and do constructive research on which uni I should have a holiday in... In the name of beautifying my resume and to get employed in the near future, I should start thinking abt my future...

Oh course, all these talking is very, very easy... Well, my future is @ stake here, so I've to suck it in and GROW UP... *Sigh* =(

I've spent a huge amt on sweets this wk, all thanks to my classmates who're organising a fund raising for the upcoming [FOC] in [Jul]... Not very sure if it's for [O Week] too, but whatever the case is, I've tried to support them by spending abt $10 on sweets, even though they're rather ordinary...

Hmmm... I wondered if I'm throwing away money for the right stuff... After all, I could've used whatever I've spent on sweets and spend it on the students who're attempting to raise funds for a trip to [Cambodia] so tt they can build wells for the needy...

Haiz, I'm gonna keep this short by adding 1 last item...

I've seen [SL] for 3 times in a row this wk... And the record is this afternoon... After my lec, I unknowningly spent 4 hrs in sch, just hanging out with him... We travelled all the way to [FOS] for lunch... Spent a total of 2.5 hrs there cause we did quite a lot of chatting and commenting on the formal attire the [Medicine] students are conatantly in...

Then we travelled all the way to [Central Forum] and spent another 1.5 hrs or so there, checking out the bazaar tt's always there after every few wks and... Chatting again...

Haha... Well, this hardly happens and as the semester continues on and tutorials and labs starts, I'll probably see him less... But to hell with it... As long as I can hang out with him, I'm glad le...

~~Have I committed a sin??? I've officially entered the grey area... I just hope whatever tt took placed today won't haunt me in the yrs to come...~~

New Year, New Start...

When you've been single for a while, you view starting a new relationship with a huge dose of trepidation.

You've been through it all before and you're tired. You know too well how it often starts nicely but ends horribly.

You know how hard it is for two people to compromise, which is what relationships are all about. And you know it's even harder when you're older, set in your ways, live in different continents and have been scarred by relationships past.

You wonder if you have the energy anymore to go through another relationship. You think of the heart and head aches that might come your way and wonder if the hassle is going to be worthwhile.

You also know that not wanting to spend another birthday or Christmas or New Year alone is not a good reason to commit to someone. Neither is bowing to social pressure (you're of a certain age and the only one left in the family who hasn't 'settled down').

You know that you shouldn't enter a relationship hoping it can fill whatever void you have inside, or because you think having a partner would give your life more meaning, purpose and excitement.

You know that if you aren't already fulfilled and happy with yourself and within yourself, no one's ever going to do that for you.

The test, I suppose, is whether you still want to spend time with the person when dreary December is over and, hooray, January is finally here and life is back to normal and you've shaken off those holiday blues.

If you still desire his or her company, then surely the new year is the best time to make a fresh start, take that leap of faith and take the plunge.

It's time I muster some courage and go ahead with the investment... Provide I find one with sufficient reliability of course...

1st Post For 2010...

I just realised tt on the last day of 2009, I penned my 300th entry... Sweet... =)

Well, this is my 1st post for the yr 2010... 9 days into the yr... How... Efficient... =P

02/01/2009... I met up with my JC classmates (or rather, the regulars who usually turn up for almost any class gathering) and headed to our J2 form teacher's house to disturb their baby... I was kinda early in leaving the house, so I decided to take a walk @ [Jurong Point] instead of heading all the way to [Pioneer] stn immediately...

As 172 was abt to arrive @ the interchange, the following sight greeted me...

[Boon Lay Bus Interchange]... Surprisingly empty and lack of any crowd @ all!!! LOL... Yep, if I were to actually catch the news or something, I would've known tt the interchange has been relocated, merging with the entire [Jurong Point] shopping centre...

I had a kick out of checking out the new interchange and exploring where all the different exits lead to... Ha~... Mountain totrise... -_-"'

I've no idea whether lunch will be provided, so I grabbed 2 bread from [BreadTalk] before heading towards [Pioneer] stn... I initially wanted to walk all the way there de, but upon feeling a couple of rain drops, I've decided not to take tt chance in case a heavy downpour ensues... In the end, there wasn't any rain @ all... The sun decided to be all happy and shiny after I've took the train...

Which is just as well cause I realised tt it's really a hell of a walk and there's no way I could've covered tt distance in like 15 mins... And it's totally uncool to meet up with everyone when I'm drenched in sweat... Ewwww...

Once we arrived @ [Mr. Ling]'s house, I was grateful for tt 2 bread which I've ingested as there wasn't any decent food except for snacks... And I'm not much of a snacks person la... However, the main attraction this time was our teacher's daughter... My classmates kinda enjoyed attempting to make the baby warm up to us and smile, but it seems she's really afraid of strangers and takes a hell of a long time to warm up to us...

A couple of shots featuring the 14 mths old velcro baby who couldn't stop sticking to either the dad or the mum like, well, velcro...

A group shot before we decided to give our teacher and his family some peace and quiet... Not before hinting tt we could be back on [CNY]... LOL...

Most left shortly after while the remaining decided to chill awhile @ [Anderson's] before heading to [NTUC] to grab more snacks for the stay @ [SH]'s house... Oh, and we did buy some durians too!!! 4 boxes of it for $10... And this was something tt we kinda regret soon after upon tasting it... The durians are kinda bland and this is the 1st time tt I'm actually not thrilled @ eating durians...

No matter what, lesson learn... No more buying durians on my own...

I totally binged on the grapes tt's available and tt was my dinner... LOL... Bread in the afternoon and only grapes and snacks for dinner...

Watched my friends played [Little Big World], a [PS3] puzzle game... Had a great laugh seeing them attempting to complete the individual level... The concept is similar to the [MS] jump quests where you have to navigate through various obstacles and try your very best not to get yourself killed by hitting the traps...

Lots of patience is required... Totally. Not. Easy...

Watched [Up] after tt before calling it a day...

06/01/2010... It was a [Wed] and as usual, [Dragonica] will have a patch... So, rather than waste my existence @ home, I decided to head out after I've completed my [Wed] house chores... Headed all the way to town again but this time, I'm exploring [Ion Orchard]... I started with the top floor and it was really OMG, WTH!!! All the goddamn branded stuff are there... No wonder it's so ulu... Where patrons are there only to make use of the charis around tt floor to chillax...

Found out tt there's a nice bookstore @ the top floor and as I headed towards B4, stuff got slightly cheaper though @ B1, a freaking belt from [G-Star Raw] still cost a whooping $112... Shit, did they like miss out a decimal point or something, geez!!!

A couple of tops did catch my eyes, but it didn't captivate me tt much for me to decide to buy it on the spot... Perhaps some other time when I stumble upon it somewhere else @ a cheaper price, perhaps I'll consider... Haha... The usual pattern when it comes to me buying clothes...

Headed to [Taka] for [Mos Burger] @ abt 1600 hrs... I didn't have my lunch and tt was like a combination of both my lunch and dinner... Hmmm... I wonder how I managed to survive tt day with only 1 meal after tt much walking... Oh well, I guess I must be burning those hidden fats bah... Wahahaha... =P

Walked all the way to [PS] to return the book which I've rented before renting [The Immortal Hunter], another book in the [Argeneau Vampire] series by [Lynsay Sands]...

Headed back to [Ion] after tt do a little more walking and time killing till like 1900 hrs, when I think it's a decent enough time to have desserts... So I travelled to [Far East] to [The Graffiti Cafe] which [XP] brought me there previously for my [Black Glutinous Rice]...

It's when I'm done with it tt I heard from my friend tt there's a [BK] in [Ion], which totally caught me off guard cause I didn't see any [BK] as I was touring... So I decided to check it out...

And discovered to my dodo-ness tt I totally, completely missed out a wing @ B3 where [BK] was located... Zzz... So much for exploring in detail the entire mall...

Made my way home when the clock striked 2000 hrs...

My dodo-ness didn't end @ the [BK] issue... I also took the wrong train... I initially wanted to take the train via [Woodlands] so tt I can enjoy my book w/o changing trains... However, not 5 mins later, I noticed tt the announcement for the next stop was [Raffles City]...

*Sigh*

I took the wrong train by mistake... WTH is wrong with me??? Ha~... I guess it's the fatigue and the fact tt I was busy burning like close to 100 SMSes chatting with a friend tt caused me to enter blur mode le lor... Haha...

Yep, yep... It was a good day, but not the best...

07/01/2010... Met up with [YH], [MJ], [SH] and his bro for a movie @ [Illuma]... But before we went to catch the movie, all of us less [YH] met up 1st for dinner @ [PastaMania]... Once tt was done and [YH] arrived, we headed to [Illuma] to collect our tickets and while killing the time, we were a little crazy with wanting to take pics every now and then @ almost every other area tt we step foot on the mall, like some kuku like tt...

It's a pity I didn't bring my cam, but it's just as well as I'm not the efficient type tt'll post all the pics immediately or within 24 hrs... Whatever the case, the pics are with the ever efficient [SH] and it's already posted on [FB] even before the day was over!!!

Yeah, so the movie tt we watched was [Avatar] and it's in 3-D!!! Haha... Well, it's no debate tt the movie plot bears a striking resemblance to [Pocahontas], but tt's not the point... I think the whole reason tt the movie's able to make the ranks of one of the highest grossing film in history is perhaps due to it's totally awesome CG effects... The scens in [Pandora] is very beautiful... The day scenes are stunning enough, but the night scenes are totally breathtaking...

And it seems like there's a possibility of there having a sequeal to the show!!! Haha... But if you think abt it, if it takes like 14 yrs to develope the 1st part... ... -_-"'

Anyway, before I end of this already very long entry, I saw the following article in [The Staits Time], [Life!] section, page E3 today...

Shameful Act...

Recently I saw one of the most harrowing videos I have seen in a long time. And it was less than a minute long.

Many people would probably have seen it. It shows a bikini-clad woman being molested by four men at a New Year's countdown party on Sentosa.

The men grope her breasts and press against her. When she falls, they pull her to her feet and continue to molest her. She tries to get away but they surround her.

So many things about this clip haunt me.

It was not just the leering, swinish and crimial behaviour of the men that made my blood run cold. The offence itself was hellish. But what really made me feel violated and implicated in the girl's plight were the cameras.

In the video, you can see flashes of cameras going off. Some onlookers were also filming the event.

Not only did they think it was okay to stand around and watch a crime unfold without doing anything, but they also decided to whip out their mobile phones to record it.

A lot has been said about Singaporeans being an apathetic lot. Many of us, trained in the reticent, anti-busybody Asian school of thought, hestitate in interfering in other people's affairs.

Last year, a LifeStyle article showed that most Singaporeans would not stop a man hitting a woman in public. They did not think it was their business to intervene in a private quarel.

In the New Year's Eve molest case, the onlookers also thought it was not their business to stop the men. It was not their business to get someone, such as a security guard or a bouncer, to stop it. But it became their business to film it.

The apathy is staggering. So is the exploitation of the poor woman.

Videos of the molest have been posted on the Internet. YouTube has taken down the video because the video-hosting site knows that there are boundaries that should not be crossed and there are perverts out there who enjoy looking at such images.

Then there are the comments on the video. I will paraphrase the remarks because some of the comments do not bear repeating in a family paper. They are along the lines of 'She deserved it', 'She was drunk' and 'She was wearing so little, she was asking for it'.

Worst of all: 'She looked like she was enjoying it.

I thought I was living in a civilised and enlightened society which, by and large, respects women, and that such ludicrous reasoning was behind us. Clearly not.

A woman wearing a halter top and a short skirt walking down a dark street gets molested. Was she foolish? Maybe. Did she lack awareness? Yes. Did she deserve to be molested or raped? No.

Just suppose a man wearing a flashy watch is robbed while walking down a dark street. Would people say that he deserved his comeuppance?

No one deserves to be assaulted, sexually or otherwise.

The victim has been accused of being an attention-seeker. Deejay Daaniel Ong, who was hosting the party, was quoted as saying that she mooned the crowd by showing her buttocks and dirty-danced with someone.

The implication, again, is that she was asking for it. She was a slut. Good girls do not dance like that. Good girls stay home.

Those who blame the victim are putting forth a poor argument that is dressed up with huge lashings of misogyny.

No, she was not asking for it. She was clubbing and she might have been behaving provocatively, but she was a human being with rights that need to be respected.

This case reminds me of what happened to Jodie Foster's character in the movie, The Accussed.

She was dirty-dancing with a man in a pub and ended up being gang-raped, cheered on by onlookers. After fighting prejudice and a tortuous legal system, she got justice in the end.

The Accused was made in 1988. It is time we got the message: A woman does not forfeit her rights when she drinks too much or behaves 'wildly'. (Incidentally, a man tends to be forgiven for transgressions committed when he is drunk.)

Each time a somebody says a woman behaves like a whore and, hence, deserves something bad to happen to her, we take a step backwards. And the world becomes a nastier place for women.

Totally WTH... I couldn't resist feeling a sense of rage when I read tt some ppl actually thinks tt the women who got molested deserved it... Seriously, they can just die...

Welcoming 2010 With Open Arms...

Heh... I shall attempt once again to keep this short and simple...

Headed out to [Yew Tee] yesterday to collect my beloved [SE W960i] which my dad helped to send for servicing... Sadly, the dude there said tt my phone is beyond hope, totally CMI, the touch-screen can't be salvaged...

O-M-G... He claimed tt it's the water tt did it... But since I've been uber careful and didn't for once drop it in any pubble of water except maybe a couple of rain drops, the dude suggested tt maybe it could be my sweaty palms... GAWD, I can't believe tt my totally acidic and sweaty palms has just destroyed my phone!!!

Yes, so now, I'm officially grieving and mourning the the passing of my semi touch screen phone...

I shall see whta [Dad] plans and when it's time to get a new phone, I'm thinking of maybe a [SE Satio] this time... Fully touch screen and totally boomz with a 12.1 MP camera and an external micro SD card tt can have a storage of 32 GB worth of data... 32 GB!!! Tt's 4x what I currently have!!! Woots!!! Ha~... I'm feeling kinda excited @ the mere mention of tt huge memory capactiy...

Of course, I shall check out the other phones tt're available or going to be available soon... Never know when I'll stumble upon another gem as good as this... Heh, actually, truth be told, I didn't really stumble upon this myself... It's thanks to a friend's recommendation la... Hyuu~...

Anyway, knowing tt my phone is beyond salvage liaozzz, I couldn't do anything abt it @ the moment, so I headed back to [Lot 1] to do some window shopping with [Sis]... Just checking out [Cotton On] and finding out how much those scarfs cost... Maybe I shall do some shopping today, find a black on @ a cheaper cost or if tt's not possible in [Orchard], I shall just get back to [Cotton On] and purchase 1 for $20...

The plan's still not concrete though... I'm still contemplating tt... Maybe [Dragonica], [MS], [Audi] and mahjong have a more powerful infulence on me such tt I might choose to stay home after all... LOL...

Anyway, it's the last day of 2009, maybe it's some unknown habit to look back and recap all those boomz and shingz moments in my life, post them here for all to see... But I'm not tt type of blogger... Or rather, the feel isn't there, not tt I can ever find the feel tt often already... For now though, to welcome the new year, I shall perhaps do a mini-restart, erase the desires tt can't be fullfilled and attempt to be a better person... After all, some things only will happen when you least expect it...

Orchard Conquered...

For the 1st time ever, a phone malfunctioned while it's still in my poession... I found my beloved [SE W960i] not responding to my finger taps on its touch screen in the morning of [Christmas' Eve]... Horrified, I tried to more tapping to see if it works and it responded only once in a while... Other than tt, the all precious touch function is dead...

As a result of tt, I can't copy my contacts to my SIM card and I don't even know why my SIM card has only like 9 slots of free memory left... I can't delete my SMSes from my [Inbox] as I can't click on the 'More' button... Thankfully, I can still SMS ppl as well as receive calls, though it's a little troublesome navigating using the scoll thingy @ the side of the phone...

[Dad] came home in the afternoon and he passed me the replacement phone which I didn't use it till [Fri], only to find tt it's a worse off phone despite it being touch screen capable and all... The messenging system is crap and it doesn't auto-capitalise the next word after every period... And changing the text input mode is equally horrible when there're 13 different inputs and you've to go thru everyone of it to get to whatever you want...

And the phonebook is utterly craptastic... It can't recognise any numbers w/o the '+65' in front of it, which means tt practically every number in my SIM card can't be identified if the person called... LOL... It's @ times like this tt I thanked [Heaven] tt I'm not tt freaking popular as I didn't commit most of the numbers to memory...

[Sat] was the day I decided to head all the way to [Wisma] to attempt to get my phone serviced... I arrived @ the service centre just before it opened (I didn't arrive like 30 mins before tt la) and when it's my turn to be attended to, I found out, to my absolute distaste, tt the servicing of my phone cost a freaking $120... Tt's the cost to replace the whole front portion of my phone... I didn't follow up with it anyway as my dad later told me tt servicing the phone @ [Yew Tee] cost a mere $80, and they even have a mth's warrenty lor...

Yes, so [Yew Tee] it is...

In the meantime, I've gotta head over to [Cineleisure] to meet up with [Ah Ming] and his clique...

Both of us were early, so we decided to take a little walk to the 4th floor via the lift as my friend was a little apprehensive of the height and I showed him the selection of food tt's available in [Suki Sushi]... Then we took the lift to the next lv to check out the movie timeslots as he actually planned to watch a movie, being in [Cineleisure] and all, might as well what...

LOL... The prob though was tt he intended to catch a movie alone, which to me seems totally fine... But apparently, his sis and later, [SL] thinks otherwise... Oh well, I've to admit in this case tt I'm slightly... Different...

Haha... So, yeah... [SL] met up with us and he was rather shocked tt it's only the 3 of us... For some reason, his clique all suddenly decide tt eating @ [Suki] and catching a movie on a [Sat] is simply too expensive and in addition, it's during [Christmas], so with all the present buying and spending time with tt special someone, there's not enough time and money...

Okay, it's a little mean to say this, but as long as [SL] turns up, I'm more than satisfied le la...

[SL] was also on a tight budget, so when he heard tt it's $23.55 per pax, he flipped... But I still managed to convinced him to eat it, thanks to my superb marketing skills...

We spent only 2 hrs there and really, if [YH] or [MJ] or both of them were even present, they'll really be snorting with disgust @ the amt of food the 3 of us are eating... Combined, I think it's hardly like 50% of what either [MJ] or [YH] is capable of eating...

Nonetheless, it's still time well spent... Friends what...

[Ah Ming] and [SL] headed to [Kino] while I made haste back to [Orchard Stn] to meet up with [XP]... We then tried our very best to head over to [Far East Plaza] as fast as possible as the sky was totally overcast and fat droplets of rain is already beginning to fall from the sky and splattering all over my clothes...

We made it in time... Heng arh!!!

Initially, I planned to take a walk @ both [Far East Plaza] and [313@Somerset] as the latter has just opened and I've yet to even set foot in there... In the end, though, we spent like 3 hrs in [Far East], looking @ most of the stores from the 1st to the 4th floor...

[XP] spent like $70+ in tt day, with a purchase of a pair of jeans and some belt with funky looking designs on it... I on the other hand, only spent on the [Suki Sushi] buffet earlier and the some desserts tt cost $1.50, when [XP] wanted to eat some fried wantons...

Did chat abt some lots of stuff and during the train ride home, I attempted to kill [XP] by boring her to death with my talk on everything [MapleStory]... LOL...

Then today, I headed back to [Orchard Road], though this time, I actually honoured my words and stepped foot into [313@Somerset]... Tagged along with [Mum] and tt's a good thing cause in the event tt I ever buy anything, I don't have to pay a single cent... Lalalala~...

[Marche] was what we had for lunch... It was a spur of the moment decision and I think it was fuel by the talks I've had with [XP] the other day abt rosti... Needless to say, tt's what I had, with a gigantic chicken cheese sausage to go along with it... It's amazing how it's being priced... Just the fried shredded potato with a sausage and sour cream cost like $12.90... GAH... Haha... Well, once in a long while, it's still okay la... Had a crepe after tt very filling rosti and tt made me even more full to the extent tt I'm feeling slightly bloated...

[Mum] left even before I'm done with the crepe, so she handed me $$$ to pay for whatever I've ate and went to walk around 1st... Once I've ingested tt crepe, I was contemplating ordering yet another cheese cake... But on 2nd thoughts, there's no pt stuffing myself silly just because I like the food... Besides, I do believe tt if I eat anymore, I'm so gonna puke la... -_-"'

I started my exploration of the entire mall from the 4th floor and [Harris] is interesting... I almost couldn't resist flipping through a romance series which I've been loosely following... Thankfully, I stopped myself in time and continued checking the other stores out...

The store with the huge tadpole as it's sign was interesting... I caught sight of a tee with the words 'Leopard Preens' on it... Wahahaha!!! Truly funny!!! And the staff of tt store are not only kinda cute, they also have this jester-like headgear tt upped their cute factor even more la!!! *Swoons*

Damn... I'm being man-crazy again... Sheesh!!!

Did saw some interesting tops which I might consider buying... Guess on my next trip out of my house, if I ever saw something similar to what I've seen today, I'll might buy it le... After all, [CNY] is coming and tt's usually an excuse to buy more clothes to expand my pathetic waredrobe...

[Mum] completed walking the mall 1st, so I've no choice but to meet up with her... We initially decided to head to [Food Republic] to have desserts and/or grab a drink... But the final outcome was tt I was doing dessert and [Mum] was doing an early dinner of prawn noodles... -_-"'

Was completely bloated after I've consumed my [Guka Malaka] tt I couldn't have a proper meal... So I decided to settle for yogurt once again and @ 2300 hrs, 4 hrs after I've ate tt delicious yogurt, I'm still freaking bloated!!! GAWD!!! -_-"'

It has been 17 days since I've last done any blogging @ all... I would love to boast tt I've been totally busy, enjoying my hols to the max out of home, but as everyone knows, tt's not the case... To date, the number of outings which I've had hasn't even exceed the number of fingers of both of my hands...

After tml and next wk, I could add @ least another 2 more to the total count, but I guess tt's abt it... 10 outings in 5 wks is a little too much for me to handle... >_< size="5">ME... =P

The movie was just average, though I do not appreciate the girls @ the back of my row giggling and squealing like, well, teenage girls whenever hunky looking [Jacob Black] strips of his top @ every other scene... If I wanna see tt tonned fit body, I wouldn't even bother spending $6 to get into the movie theater... There is the Internet...

Apart from [Jacob Black], the [Volturi] have some rather good looking vamps too, like [Alec] and [Felix]... Ha~... And apart from all the seemingly good looking actors, another thing which I liked abt the vamps in the movie is their totally awesome dress sense... And how they're capable of looking so impeccable despite them sprinting away from chasing werewolves... *Envy*

Hmmm... With [New Moon] done, I shall now patiently wait for [Eclipse]...

2 [Sat]s ago, [The Gang] decided to use my home's kitchen as a cooking HQ...

And after all the cooking and stuffing ourselves silly with our home-cooked meal and feeling proud of our own achievements, we settled down to watch a romantic comedy - [The Proposal]...

And yeah, I couldn't resist drooling in my mind whenever [Rayn Reynolds] pops up in the screen... *Swoons*

Tt was close to 2 wks ago... 4 days ago, I met up with almost everyone again for dinner... But before tt, I decided to head over to sch 1st to complete my quest - 'Obtained Windows 7 Upgrade For Fujitsu Laptop'... A very simply quest tt requires travelling to sch and submit the relavent documents and viola!!! Quest complete...

So I met up with [MJ] in the afternoon... [YH] and [XP] tagged along as well, with the former joining us only for lunch while the latter decided to join us as she has to return to sch to return some stuff which she accidentally koped during her kendo camp...

Initially, I wanted to have prata @ [The Cheese Prata Shop]... But upon arriving @ the place, all 4 of us found out tt the staff are having a company gathering for 2 days, from 21 Dec to 22 Dec, and therefore, they won't be open for business!!! -_-"'

So, after I've gotten over my disappointment, we've to find an alternative way to satisfy our rumbling stomach... By heading to the nearest canteen available... [FASS]!!!

Once lunch was over, [YH] have to head back home to do some cooking, so we went to complete our quests before deciding how on Earth are we gonna head over to town as cheaply as possible, while trying to waste as much time as possible till 1730 hrs...

The solution??? Bus no. 33 from [Kent Ridge Terminal]... We took the bus all the way to [Bugis]... Only to discover tt another quest awaits!!! We now have to get [MJ] a replacement footware as hers chose to spoil @ tt moment... So we entered [BHG] and searched for decent footware to replace her LOUSY [Rubi] flats... *Hints*

Got a pair of [Levi's] flip flops for $19.90 and off we go to [Orchard]!!! Took a little walk in B4 of [Ion Orchard]... Our intention was to look @ the food till we're hungry... But for my case, my eyes stumbled over the sight of hunky [Adam Chen], [MediaCorp] actor... LOL!!! 'Nuff said...

*Sigh* Thogh now tt I think abt it, I should've secretly snapped a pic of him la!!! Wasted and sadded...

Met up with almost all of them @ [Paragon] and I allowed my camera to do a little work 1st as warm-up...

[Darrell] was @ the entrance of [Sakura] when we arrived... So after making the payments and settling how much each individual should pay, with the exception of [MJ] as we're treating her, we attacked the food as if we're hungry ghosts tt've been just realised from the gates of hell... Well, mostly [MJ], [YH], [YQ] and [Cass] la... The rest of us are not tt much of a big eater... LOL...

Just look @ the amt of food tt we took during the 1st round!!! GOSH!!!

While slowly enjoying out food...

LOL... And since this outing is sorta to celebrate the 1 b-day gals - [YH] and [MJ], [YQ] attempted to sing the b-day song in the choir way with disastrous results... I doubt I'm able to upload the vid on [PhotoBucket] and import it here as the file's quite big... So I've to settle with uploading it on [FaceBook] instead...

And look!!! We also got them some cheesecake...

LOL... Ya la... It's from the buffet de la... =P

Once the hilarious attempt to sing the song has concluded, it's time to atk the cake!!!

W/o [SH] being around, there's no lack of amusement, as [YQ] and [Cass] have proven...

Ha~... And once we bid each other farewell, [YQ], [Cass], [Yuling], [MJ] and I attempted to take 190 back home... After missing 3 buses because they're fully packed, we were abt to change out mind and take 700A instead when the next 190 came and we were able to squeeze in... the squeezing continued even till the stop opposite [Lucky Plaza]... Apparently, those commuters @ tt stop thought they have every right to board the bus after missing @ least 3 buses, by refusing to not board the bus even though it's filled to the brim with ppl, demanding tt we attempt to move to and make space... HA!!! We're solids, for crying out loud... We can't be compressed... Sheesh!!!

In the end, I spent 90 mins getting home FROM ORCHARD ROAD!!! I'd really just take the train... -_-"'

The following day is the release of the results for my finals... I was rather nervous, thanks to [MKT1003] and the nature of the tests (all of them) were slightly different in the sense tt there are only on average 5 questions per paper and each question pack TONS of marks... So if you screw 1 question up... You will be screwed...

No wonder I'm finding tt I'm a little lacking in confidence... And so does [SL], from his not-too-distant status update on [FaceBook]...

Anyway, when I tried to gain access to the website tt'll reveal my grades, I seemed to have stumbled some... Problems... It's not until [MJ] told me tt I don't have to access the craptastic [VPNClient] 1st tt I'm able to retrieve my results... LOL... Really, the new system seems kinda troublesome...

Okay, okay... *Drumrolls again*

I got a C+ for [MKT1003], which is good enough as I really don't have much hope of acing tt subject... A pass is all tt I ask for... As for the rest of my modules as well as my CAP so far, well, I'm simply very pleased with what I've achieved...

Semester Break...

It's 8 Dec, just a wk since I've had my break... Yet it seems like it has been ages already... Haha... In the past, I wouldn't have even thought of saying such a thing... It seems like blasphemy, muttering such a thing when the hols have just started and I've yet to game to my hearts content, leveling as much as I can and exploring the entire world of [Dragonica] to the best of my ability...

There is beyond a doubt tt I am capable of doing tt... Yet to do tt almost on a daily basis seems... Boring... Yet another statement which has never crossed my mind till now...

Well, I would say it all comes down to perception... As long as you're given more of something, even though it's what I desire the most, I'll eventually get tire of it and find tt whatever I've been seeking is after all, meaningless...

But what do I actually desire the most @ this point in life??? Apart from the necessity of getting good grades and graduating from [NUS], saying tt what I desire the most is to achieve the 3rd job advancement in [Dragonica], to be a [Oracle]... Or to get tt elusive [Deed To The Land] and to get promote my [Cleric] to a [Preist], would be a lie...

I'm feeling totally out of sync with the entire surroundings...

I was starving myself this morning all the way till roughly abt 0930 hrs before I headed out for breakfast, even though I woke @ like 0730 hrs...

Don't get the wrong idea, I ain't dieting...

In tt 2 hrs or so, I was checking my [FaceBook] acc as well as catch [Legend Of The Seeker] which I've recorded last wk... Haha... The benefit of owning a VCR is tt I can watch my show as and when I like, releasing me from the constraints of the TV schedule...

Though [Ah Ming] told me tt I can watch my [English] dramas online, I couldn't be bothered with tt... I'm not gonna give up better quality just to find out the entire storyline ASAP... Ha~...

Anyway, after I was done with the show, I headed all the way to [Lot 1] for my [Mac] breakfast... LOL... After torturing myself for tt 2 hrs, it's a relieve to taste tt pancake and harshbrowns and milo... Haha... And as much as I would like to take my own sweet time and enjoy the food and the crowd, it's impossible to do tt when I'm alone, when there's no one to chat with, no one to share my thoughts with... So what's the point in tt??? It's more practical to simply do all my tasks and get home, where the next task - play [Dragonica] - awaits...

Once I'm done with my milo (for which I took like 15 mins to finish), I headed to [Professional Hair Studio] for my haircut... There was some sort of hestitation when I was deliberating my options of where to get my haircut... With [Professional Hair Studio] informing me tt the student priced is only reserved to students below university level, it seems rather crazy to get a haircut for $18.80 when just not too far away - just next door, in fact- it'll only cost $10...

Yet I still tried the more expensive haircut on the pretext of testing the standard tt it offers... Which is almost of similar standard to the ordinary $10 haircut which I've been getting for the past 2 yrs...

Ha~... I shall just continue to experiment and check out the sch's salon again in 2 - 3 mth's time...

Shovelling down food blocks gut hormones that signal the brain to stop eating.

Your mother's advice to eat slowly at meal times may have been wise after all: a new study suggests that shovelling down your food blocks the body's appetite-control process.

'Most of us have heard that eating fast can lead to food over-consumption and obesity and some studies have supported this notion,' said [Dr. Alexander Kokkinos], the lead resercher of the study.

What has been missing, however, is biological evidence that a leisurely meal is better for appetite control, according to [Dr. Kokkinos] and his colleagues at [Athens University Medical School] in [Greece] and the [Imperial College London] in [Britain].

To study the question, the researchers had 17 healthy men eat a generous portion of ice cream under two different conditions: in one, they ate the treat in two servings over five minutes; in the other, they ate it in small servings over 30 minutes.

Although the groups' feelings of fullness and hunger did not seem to differ, the researchers found that when the men ate slowly, they showed higher blood levels of two hormones - like peptide YY (PYY) and glucagon-like peptide 1 (GLP-1) - roughly three hours after the meal.

Both PYY and GLP-1 are released from the digestive tract as a 'fullness' signal to the brain, curbing appetite and calorie intake.

The findings, to be published in an upcoming issue of the [Journal Of Clinical Endocrinology & Metabolism], lend more weight to the conventional wisdom that people should savour their food.

Some previous research has found that when people take the time to chew their food thoroughly and enjoy a meal, they tend to eat fewer calories than when they have that same meal at an eat-and-run pace. However, the reasons for that have been unclear.

'Our study provides a possible explanation for the relationship between speed eating and overeating by showing that the rate at which someone eats may impact the release of gut hormones that signal the brain to stop eating,' [Dr. Kokkinos] said.

According to him, the findings are particularly relevant in a time when many people are relying on fast food and regularly eating on the run.

The study suggests that slowing down at meal time could aid appetite control and ultimately weight control.

The mind-wrecking 8 days has finally passed and my finals are done with... I'm feeling as much relieve as nervousness... Logically, I understand tt feeling nevervous AFTER the exams are over is utterly ridiculous... I've sat for the exams, I've handed in my answers, so being nervous and apprehensive won't and can't change the incorrect response tt I've written... I guess it's just in the human nature...

And strangely, I've never felt such post-exams jitters, ever... Well, I was rather confident in the past, but it seems like tt confidence seems to wane as age catches up with me... I believe tt the difference b/w 'confidence' and 'complacency' is really just a thin thread...

Am I getting more cautios, so tt mistakes can be avoided, or am I just being a gutless, paranoid chicken??? I find it increasingly hard to differentiate them...

I guess it's time to really get what I've been doing best all these yrs - blocking and tuning out stuff - back... I seem to very capable of jarring my self-confidence by considering the macro-forces tt I can't control, like the intense competition tt I'm facing and the grading system... It's time to block out all these and pretend tt those stuff don't exist...

Tt said, I've made a few careless mistakes for [BSP1005], am praying hard tt I could get a pass for [MKT1003] (though a 'C' would be much preferred'), got stunned by a few questions in [DSC2003] and [ST1131A]... MCQs for [GEK1527] is simply too tricky tt it's hard to discern what's really correct...

*Sigh* As it is, there's NOT A SINGLE MODULE for which I can confidently say tt I know all of the questions when I walk out of the exam hall... And what worse, with only an average of 5 to 6 questions per paper and each question having like tons of marks assigned to them, 1 careless, baka mistake is sufficient to DOOM me...

I'll just have to wait till 22 Dec before the verdict is out on how well I've fared...

Oh well, moving on to this afternoon... I met up with [Ah Ming] @ [Lot 1] to catch [2012]... We met @ noon and after spending $3 for both our tickets because I used my complimentary pass and I've decided to share the cost of the other ticket which cost $6 so my [Ah Ming] could earn some 'economic benefit' too, we headed to [PastaMania]...

I ordered my [Ham Cheesy Pasta] and it seems like this time, I suffered a cheese overdose as the pasta already contained cheese sauce with more cheese bits... Then I went to more cheese onto it... Well, I could take it the other time when I tried it, but this time, before I could finish it, I almost puke... Luckily, I stopped just in time before my stomach revolted...

Anyway, we chit-chatted a little, talking abt the various modules tt we've taken as well as our common dislike for gory (a.k.a [Saw] movie) before we moved onto the arcade where we spent the next 45 mins or so there... We were observing some teens playing the [DDR] and I'm truly amazed @ their proficiency in the game... Having almost no miss, no cool...

I wish I could do tt in [Audi] too, @ the [6-Key Beat Up] mode... But it's all wistful thinking when I hardly even practice the game...

The movie was not too bad... Neither was it really fantastic, though there were some scenes which were rather touching, causing a tear to ALMOST escape... Anyway, the most outrageous scene was when the whole state was crumbling into nothingness due to the displacement of the tectonic plate and yet, the main protagonist, his ex-wife, his 2 children and the ex's husband managed to miraculously survive tt disaster... And how was tt done??? By the protagonist driving the car like a lunatic as the tectonic plate cumbles JUST BEHIND the car and as buildings collapse EVERYWHERE BUT @ THE FRONT OF THE CAR... Even the building decided to smash into rubble only AFTER the car drove through... As the car was driving through, the falling pieces seems to slow down while the car maintains it's velocity...

Bet if the protagonist bought lottery, he would've striked the top prize... LOL...

Overall though, despite it's average-ness, the movie is really thought provoking... If the world really is to end and we know abt it and have the ability to escape it, who should get the chance??? Will the government really keep the public in the dark till the crucial min before breaking the news??? Will only the rich bastards be given the chance to survive the apocalypse??? Or will only the genetically flawless be kept alive??? Or should we just make it 1st come 1st serve, allow for natural selection???

But even the last is unjust as wherever the ship is built, the ppl furthest from it georaphically speaking will be @ a serious disadvantage... So, does this simply boils down tt when the world ends, we should just do nth and let [Earth] be cleansed from human civilzation??? Like some sort of 'Reset' button where evolution will just start all over again???

Haha... Well, it's simply food for thought... =)

Disappearing Act...

Will I find the resolve to seriously change my lifestyle when the exams are over and the hols start??? Not a drastic change/ extreme makeover... Just a simple change tt perhaps brings me out of my comfort zone by a couple of centimeters...

The exams are seriously just around the corner, like in 44 hr's time, I'll be sitting for my very 1st paper - [GEK1527]... Haha, for most of my modules, I need more 'All the best' as I'm rather confident and sure tt I'll be able to get a decent grade... The optimum would be for me to get a distinction, but I'm not banking on tt considering the intense competition tt I'm facing and the fact tt I'm not natural born genius...

However, when it comes to [MKT1003], it's like [Social Studies] @ [O Levels] and [Econs] @ [A Levels] all over... I need more 'Good luck' than 'All the best'... My inability to evaluate or really think out of the box is what's dooming me... *Sigh*

May a miracle happen on next [Sat]...

I should attempt to pull of the ultimate magic trick... It's fairly easy for me to go MIA in real life... I should try going MIA even online... Haha... Easier said than done when I'm so caught up with the various [FaceBook] apps... Maybe the comic in the papers was right... Social networking sights are a ploy by the real, nerdy geeks to enslave the world through mind control... LOL...

It used to be so easy for me to abstain from every single form of entertainment when I was studying for my exams when I was in both [KSS] and [PJC]... Yet now the mere thought of me not touching the computer or my laptop seems a near impossibility due to their shere proximity...

In the previous entry of mine, I've stated my intention to talk abt my expedition in the [El Grego] continent... Haha... If only I'm tt adventurous in reality...

Anyway, [Halloween] was around the corner, so with the veil separating this world and the undead, well, you can guess tt quite a number of unnatural monsters were let loose wherever I went... Not tt I was the kinda to run screaming and high-tailed it out of the monster's range the moment 1 was spotted...

Instead, with the courage tt I was severely lacking in real-life, I took them on w/o hesitation, displaying my power as a mighty magician... Haha... The irony of all the destruction when I've decided once again tt I'll take the path of being a [Cleric]...

There were an awful lot of vampires roaming abt, not tt I'm really concerned... The more the merrier as I get to unleashed my darker, more sadistic side whenever I play such [MMORPG]s... Besides, I also get to earn more exp and more items tt will bestowed me with buffs for a set amt of time, so who's complaining???

It seems like werewolves and vampires are a packaged deal... GAH... Both are chasing me!!! HAHA... =D

Well, not much of a challenge after all...

Hmmm, ever since [MJ] decided to play the game and I've decided tt I'm not abt to retire from gaming YET, [Dragonica] has implemented some rare monster system unlike any [MMORPG] which I've ever played... Said rare monster will spawn @ random throughout the world of [Dragonica] and if you did collect the quest for it, lucky you... Otherwise, it's also rather fortunate to stumble upon one and have NO ONE fighting over you for the kill...

So lucky me to stumble upon the [Molech] and I had a tough time killing it... But I succeeded anyway obviously (otherwise, I won't be here bragging)...

LOL... My all time record of combo-ing in the game... ^_^

It's 1 thing to play [Dragonica] as I've to use my desktop instead to ensure tt I'm able to play w/o any lag as a result of my laptop's not-as-good graphic gard card... Haha... After all, if you've experienced something even better, you'll tend to prefer the better alternative instead of settling for the less desired one when both are readily available, right???

Anyway, when I've already turned on my laptop and have no intention of wasting more electricity or risk screwing up my laptop's keyboard from the excessive button smashing, I turn to [MapleStory]...

What I encountered after killing more than 2,000 [Curse Eyes] and not a single one dropped the mythical [Deed To The Land]... I went exploring in [Perion] and I stumbled upon this amazing and cute [Cliff Breeze] as I was on my way to the [Excavation Site] where tons of undead monsters can be found...

Needless to say, I got myself killed again due to some reckless act, but though I'm peeved over tt total loss of 10% worth of exp (I died twice... -_-"'), I wasn't tt agitated as I've loads of time to level and completing tt [BlackBull's Deed To The Land] quest is of higher importance...

Heck, I think I'll level-up even before I manage to find 1...

Oh, and I successfully defeated [MushMon]!!! Hooray!!! LOL... Not much cause for celebration la, considering tt not many ppl are playing the game liao and I should be aiming for straight 'A's instead of being proud of the [MushMom]'s conquest...

Hmmm... Seeing tt not many ppl will actually appreciate my [MS] talk, I now know what it feels like to play any forms of musical instruments to a cow... =P

Well, well, I reckon the title sums up what has been going on with my own life lately... I haven't and never will be the exciting dude who will party all night nor have so much fun in the day tt I couldn't afford the time to blog... No, I have been going around with my routine business such that it's too mundane to talk abt the same thing over and over again...

It seems like this is a vicious cycle... Me whining abt my pathetic life yet still unwilling to get my ass out of the comfort zone... LOL...

When the sun is no longer a sphere, maybe I'll change for the better...

Apart from the normal routine of doing homework and being hooked onto [FaceBook], I did watch a 2 movies within the last 2 weeks, all by myself, which isn't tt surprising... 1st was [Cloudy With A Chance Of Meatballs] and it's rather entertaining, though I bet it could be better if I were to watch the show with the entire 3-D exp... The thought of seeing gaint-sized meatballs or a pasta tornado hurling my way is just too cool... Well, tt's me and my junk food talking...

Then there's [Sheryl]'s 21st b-day celebration @ [Orange Cafe], down [JTC Submit Building] which is simply next to [Jurong East MRT Stn]... I did enjoyed my time in the form of hanging out with my JC classmates... Other than tt, the activities were just average, what's with ppl singing, playing pool as well as darts... Ahaha... I'm only able to do the last activity and though it wasn't perfect, me and my friends had a good laugh over one another's dart throwing ability...

Fast forward to a couple of days ago, I was @ town on a [Sat] afternoon... I initially planned on meting a certain someone for movie followed by lunch, but it seems like the unseen force is hinting tt perhaps meeting face-to-face wasn't the most ideal choice... I wasn't stood up... No, it's not like this... I knew the chances of actually meeting up was rather slim the moment I was told tt he had to work on a [Sat]...

As a result of tt, I ended up navigating through [Cineleisure]'s [Theater 4] alone, @ the expense of missing a step and falling to my death (okay, tt's a wee bit dramatic) and watched [My Girlfriend Is An Agent]... The movie is hilarious and though it's kinda sexist, [SH] will be glad to know tt this time, it's the girl who's the hero... Girl power FTW!!! LOL!!! ^_^

Oh, and yesterday, I got shot... By the doctor, of course... My dad has decided to have the whole family vaccinated for the [H1N1 2009] virus, so he made the appointment for all of us, excluding my sis as she's below 18, for the jab... And I'm proud to say tt I didn't break down and cry like a bumbling idiot @ the sight of the needle, not tt I've ever cried... I just do not like the sight of the needle or rather foreign sharp objects poking me...

I gather it's because I'm afraid of pain... Very, very afraid of pain...

A Post To Keep It Going...

Yesterday, my class held a [Halloween] party by getting a function room somewhere in [Woodlands]... Since it's a [Halloween] party, we were supposed to dress up or something, but since not many are receptive to the idea of dressing up, they decided to just do the pot luck concept where everyone brings a food tt's supposedly must be scary in nature...

Me, being uncreative as usual, couldn't think of a dish tt when spiced up, seems scary until [XP] suggested buying a few tub of ice-cream, melt and mix them together before refreezing them again... LOL... Well, ppl might find tt scary/disgusting, but I find tt it's okay, considering tt I like to eat melted ice-cream or mixed ice-cream flavours...

Okay, this is going to sound lame, but despite all tt I've typed, I didn't attend the gathering yesterday night... The main reason it being held in the night and the 2nd is tt I'm kinda lazy when it comes to food preparationg... Wahahaha... =)

But I did heard abt what happened... With the epic topic of how 1 of our classmates who got rather drunk, acted and could hardly remember what she did... YES, IT'S A SHE!!!

She didn't get totally wasted though, but it's bad enough already...

It started when she became not too sober and she kept insisting tt she's not drunk yet... Then she rested on the shoulder of a guy tt was rumoured to like her... And tt was rather funny when all the guy did was simply stoned there... Though it just gets better when the others tried to get her to move and head home as it was already 2300 hrs then... They did by attempting to bluff her tt it's 4 am in the morning, but it seems like though she's rather drunk, she's still quite smart...

'I'm not drunk... It's only 11 pm lor, cause the botak security guard is still here...' Tt's the statement tt she said WHEN THE SECURITY GUARD WAS AROUND!!!

LOL... There seems to be more hilarious events tt took place, but the most EPIC one of all was tt we realised tt when she's drunk, she'll go around KISSING random ppl... 1st was another gal classmate, followed by the attempt to kiss the other guy classmates... Then the last was her attempt to kiss the taxi driver too... Sheesh!!! It totally reminded me of [Hanazakari No Kimitachie]...

The scene when [Sano] was drunk and started to kiss [Kagurazaka]... LOL!!!

Anyway, it seems like everyone had some degree of fun, especially when there's someone so drunk from drinking [Absolute Vodka]... Haha... A pity tt no one ever did contemplated bringing a camera or some device tt could capture images or record videos... Zzz... -_-"'

Grrahhh... I guess it's the workload and stress tt's starting to get to my head... It's not like I've been ditched by some hunk vampire tt I'm seriously in love with...

In case none of you have any idea what I'm talking abt, I'm referring to the scene from [New Moon]... If after this explanation, you still have absolutely NO idea what tt is or have the strange impression tt I'm talking abt the event when the moon is not visible in the night sky, you're much more of a mountain tortise than I am... -_-"'

Anyway, I just missed [The Gang] outing for the 2nd time in my life!!! After seeing the pics they [SH] took, I feel kinda bad tt I chose not to turn up @ the last min... In fact, after [MJ] told me on [Mon] tt the outing was scheduled to be held yesterday, I was already contemplating on giving it a miss... The final push was not only my [Marketing] presentation tt was due on [Fri] tt resulted in me to stay up darn late almost for 5 days straight in order to complete tt on top of my other tutorials as well as the fact tt I've yet to do my [GEK1527] assignment tt's due on [Wed] @ 0900 hrs... As a result of all those factors, I've decided to confine myself @ home in order to complete tt 1 assignment which I spent 2 days in order to complete it (signs of unproductivity)...

Oh well, I guess for the next few wks, I'll most probably be pressed for time to complete my other weekly assignments as well as my [MKT1003] individual assignment tt's due on [6 Nov]... *Sigh*

Not to mention tt I've yet to clear my 2 [GEK1527] and 1 [MKT1003] e-lecture which I should've done ages ago during the [University Wide E-learning Week]... Procracstination, procrastination, procrastination... I'm such an expert on tt...

Anyway, it's kinda of late to say this, but yes, I'm back to playing not only [Dragonica] but [MapleStory] too... And only when I've the time, of course... LOL...

A cash item tt you'll get for free when you enter [MS]... I was lucky to get it!!! Too bad I don't have much friends to party with to earn the 80% increase in exp tt the ring gives... =S

Okay, so I've been playing [MS] since 5 yrs ago, but I didn't know tt it's really, really possible to get to [SleepyWood] from [Ellinia]... I only realised tt recently when [Sis] told me tt if you head all the way up in the map [The Tree That Grew], you'll eventually end up @ a map with a warning tt warns you not to fall jump down as it's '30 km in altitude'... LOL... With such a warning, it's only natural tt you'll want to jump down... After all, when ppl tell you not to do something, they'll usually want you to do it de... Haha... ^_^

Anyway, like I've mentioned on the previous post, I screwed up during my [MKT1003] presnetation... However, going by the feedback the tutor provided, our group did rather well... We just have to improve on our confidence, stand nearer to the audience and have slides tt're more visually appealing by utilizing the various functions tt [MicroSoft Office 2007] provides... Haha... Well, this is my 1st official presentation in [NUS]...

Anyway, I don't know why there's such a practice to take a group pic... Perhaps to commemorate the hard work tt we've placed for this 20% of our overall grade??? LOL... No matter what, I'm not complaining... =P

'You've finally experienced what it's like to be in [NUS]'...

Tt was uttered to me as I complained to my group mates tt I completed what I was tasked to do for our [MKT1003] group project tt was due today and could only sleep @ 0130 hrs this morning...

Not to forget the part tt I've to wake up @ 0530 hrs, just 4.5 hrs later... It was really a extremely good experience and 1 I hope tt I wouldn't have to repeat anytime soon...

Meeting @ 0900 hrs for our 1st and final practice before the real thing is really scary when the tutor demanded a certain lv of professionalism... No cue cards or scripts are to be in our hands and hence, we've to memorise what we've to say...

Initially, it sounds easy with the false impression tt the slides will be able to prompt us on what we have to say... However, we must @ least know what we're supposed to say 1st and this is something tt was seriously lacking in me...

With my day ending @ almost 1800 hrs every other day and me arriving home @ abt 1900 hrs, it was a near impossiblity to do my tutorials, manage the presentation slides and memorise what I've to say... Not to mentioned tt the whole allocation of who to say what part was only finialised @ the very last min, like 2 days before the actual presentation...

It was a nightmare before the real thing and a nightmare when the real thing came... Unlike my group mates, I GOT STUCK DURING 1 OF THE SLIDES WHICH I WAS PRESENTING!!! The explanation to a pt on the slide just blanked out of my mind and I couldn't continue for tt fw blaring seconds... THE AWKWARDNESS WAS BLARING AND WHATEVER LITTLE CONFIDENCE TT I HAVE JUST VANISHED...

Well, what else could be expected from a person who hasn't spoken out to a group officially for 3 yrs??? *Sigh*

I still have many mre practices to go and I just hope tt I'll be able to get the confidence tt's hiding somewhere within me... Haha...

For now, I'm off to chill before concluding this long and tedious day... Tml shall be yet another day of mugging... I've so many deadlines to meet, gosh!!!

Craptastic... I think I'm heading on the path of self-destruction after I treated the entire e-learning wk as yet another 1 wk holiday... -_-"'

As a result of tt, I'm like 5 lectures behind when my schedule returns back to normal... I totally didn't listen to a single webcast during tt entire wk, only managing to listen to 2 webcasts during the weekend before this wk started... Dotzzz... I'm screwed, period...

In addition, I realised tt my webcase for [ST1131A] was totally fei de... The lecturer literally used the [PowerPoint] format and recorded his voice on every slide... Not only was the background noise louder than his voice which gives the impression tt he's whispering into the mic, the whole thing lasted for abt 30 mins max... The ultimate thing tt proved tt the webcast was a complete waste of time was when I went for the lecture on [Mon] only to find tt the lecturer actually REPEATED EVERYTHING tt was on the webcast and he used 90 mins for it... ZZZ!!! -_-"'

Anyway, time is indeed insufficient with all the work tt just keeps piling up nonstop... I couldn't even find time now to actually [Maple] or [Dragonica] in peace... *More depressing sigh*

LOL... Oh well, I think I shall end here le... Haha... Bet this should be my 1st ever shortest entry in ages... Well, I can't do much with a time limit of a mere 45 mins as I'm currently in sch waiting for my lec to start... It's nice to have a lappy around so tt I can kill time by tending to my farms and restaurant...

Horrible, Tiring Week...

Ohmigosh... It's only 6 pm and I feel as if someone has casted 'Drain' on me, depleting my lifeforce... I feel freaking lethargic la!!!

Anyway, I should rewind a little... I've had my [DSC2003] mid-terms on [Monday] and I'm rather confident with regards to my performance on tt paper, until yesterday when the lecturer actually went through the paper itself, telling us how the questions are supposed to be answered and all...

Tt's when I realised tt I've made some ~~rather~~ very stupid mistakes, also known as careless mistakes... Apparently, 1 of the question was more or less a replica of a tutorial question, just tt some of the numbers were changed, causing the objective function to be different...

And this is where the stupid part comes in... I actually used the concepts from the tutorial question to answer the question, w/o any modifications @ all... So, my answers are totally, zettai wrong with respect to tt of the exam question... Zzz... Way to go, huh... -_-"'

In addition, I had my [BSP1005] test today too... Again, I was kina jittery for unknown reasons... I even had this nagging feeling tt I just might have misread my lecture venue on [IVLE]... And this insecurity stemmed from my embarassing situation yesterday...

I knew I had my [Mkt1005 Subject Pool] after my [ST1131A] tutorial, which is why in the morning, I checked my e-mail as well as my handbook to be doubly sure... Yet when I headed over to [Experimental Lab 1], I was told tt my survey was 30 mins later, @ 1530 hrs instead... GAH!!! I couldn't believe tt I actually checked twice before coming to sch, and another time before the thing actually start, and I still failed to noticed tt I wrote tt I booked the time slot @ 1530 hrs...

It was amazingly retarded... So I ended up wandering around [Biz] building for 15 mins or so, all the while disturbing [YH] while she was making her mooncakes to kill the time... LOL... And I wanna make mooncakes too!!!

Well, [YH] promised tt next yr, she's gonna teach me... Yeah!!! *Double victory sign*

Oh, back to my insecurities... Because of tt incident yesterday, I was slightly paranoid tt I might end up waiting @ the wrong venue... After all, with abt 15 mins left to the start of the test, there still wasn't any familiar faces, which contributed more to my anxiety...

In the end, the anxiety was all for nth... The test wasn't so hard either, so I'm just praying tt I won't be making any more idiotic careless mistakes... Tt 2 yrs break from studying has indeed done some irrevocable damage to my brain... *Sigh* =S

The last interesting thing worth noting down is tt I actually spent a total of approx. 6 hrs with [SL] yesterday... LOL... I met up with him for lunch to force an answer out from him regarding next week's activity down @ [ChinaTown]... Then he needed a dinner buddy, so it's only natural tt I agree to it considering tt I do have to settle my dinner before heading home too... LOL... And he pon his lec just to crash my lec to study for his test @ 8 pm... Somehow, after I type this and think abt it, it seems kinda weird... But whatever... I'm not complaining!!!

I tried the food from the [Indonesian] stall @ the [Engin] canteen by his recommendation and as it turns out, it was really not too bad... I just have to remember to not get those spicy curry onto my rice... Haha... It wasn't THAT spicy... It's just spicy, but I don't like it... LOL... Troublesome, I know... =P

Hmmm... I think I should stop liao and watch ep. 2 of [Liar Game]... In the meantime, here's something which I heard from the radio...

I've nth new to whine abt...

In a blink of an eye, days have passed and it's [Sat] night... Less than 48 hrs till my very 1st mid-term paper for this semster...

It seems like I've now lost the ability to be totally relax and deny the reality, pretending tt everything will eventually work out fine... Upon hearing tt a certain friend's friend actually did all but 2 of the questions in the Ch 4 [DSC2003] textbook, I found myself being unable to ignore tt fact...

In the past, when I learned tt my classmates have actually practiced on the TYS and all, I simply couldn't care less... Yet I couldn't do it now... Instead the stress tt I'm feeling seems to be increasing as the date for tt paper approaches...

I can't stop thinking of the stuff tt I've yet to complete and the lack of time... Could this be the result of being too caught up with the [Facebook] apps??? I seem to be more concerned over my farms instead of my assignments and tutorials...

I need chill pills...

*Sigh* I'm losing my ability to blog too... Is it only a matter of time before I become a total trash??? Is this a result of a real case of my brain turning to mush???

Anyway, I haven't been reading the papers lately, so when I heard snippets of what my friends were talking abt yesterday abt the following news as we made our way to [Funan] in search for lunch, I've decided to do some digging on the [Internet]... Girl Cries Molest, Top NUS Grad Says I Can't Control Ejaculation - The Straits Times, 24 Sep 2009

POLICE, laboratory technicians, a psychiatrist and a urologist were all harnessed to look at the mystery of a drop of semen on the thigh of a woman on a bus.

Did it appear because of a hair-trigger ejaculation of a male passenger – said to be a rare condition?

Or was it the act of a pervert?

The 24-year-old woman had cried molest after she claimed an undergraduate on the bus brushed his private parts against her thigh.

When the police were called, they found a drop of semen on the woman’s thigh.

DNA tests showed that it belonged to Chong Weien, 28, who was then a psychology student at the National University of Singapore (NUS).

He has since graduated at the top of his class and has been accepted to do his Master’s programme with an Australian university, the court was told.

But this may have to wait as he was found guilty of one charge of outrage of modesty after a trial. He was jailed 15 months’ and given three strokes of the cane.

The prosecution is appealing against the sentence, while Chong is appealing against his conviction and sentence. He is now out on bail.

His defence was that he suffers from spontaneous ejaculation – a condition which causes him to ejaculate without physical stimulation. He claimed this was what happened on the bus.

Two experts, a psychiatrist and a urologist, who examined him, testified that this was possible. (See report on facing page.)

Crowded

The disturbance on the bus happened at about 9.30pm on 14 Sep, 2006.

The court heard that Chong boarded it at NUS and stood next to the woman, who was sitting along the aisle.

The seats on both sides of the bus were elevated. Because of this, his crotch was level with her thigh.

He was wearing a T-shirt and a pair of shorts. He had a haversack with him and was holding his jacket in his left hand at waist level.

The woman said that as the bus got more crowded, Chong moved closer to her, so much so that she could hear him breathing.

She then felt a warm object on her right thigh and a wet sensation later on.

She suspected that it was Chong’s private parts. But she could not see what it was because it was blocked by his jacket.

When the bus reached a stop, she stood up and asked him: “What did you do on my leg?”

She then snatched his jacket and slapped him, causing his glasses to fall off.

He asked her if they could talk outside the bus. So when the doors opened, she got off, followed by Chong.

Her male friend, who was on the same bus, got off at the same stop to assist her.

She said that Chong asked her if there had been a misunderstanding, and if he had stepped on her feet.

The woman told the court that she had not seen Chong exposing himself.

But she said that after they alighted, Chong had offered to let her look in his bag.

She found some CDs and a plastic bottle of water, which was not warm and had not leaked.

As such, her conclusion was that those items could not have caused the warm sensation that she had felt on her thigh.

She was still furious and hit Chong a few times before she was pulled away by her friend.

That was when her friend noticed wet spots on Chong’s jacket. He took it, smelled it and realised it was semen.

Her friend then told Chong: “This is yours, right? We are all men, you should know what this is.”

The woman claimed Chong apologised and told her he would not do it again. She then called the police.

But was it possible that Chong’s semen ended up on the woman’s thigh after she snatched his jacket from him on the bus?

She told the court that she had grabbed it with her right hand, and the jacket had come into contact with her left hand, causing it to feel wet. She then wiped it with the jacket.

She insisted she did not touch her thigh with her hands because she felt they were dirty.

In his defence, Chong said that he realised he had ejaculated only when the woman’s friend commented about the wet spots on his jacket.

He said it had happened twice before, when he woke up in the morning and when he was queuing at an ATM. There was no mention of when the two incidents occurred.

Chong denied brushing himself against the woman’s thigh.

He said that he would have to untie the string on his waistband to expose his private parts, which was a difficult task on a crowded bus.

‘Untruthful’

How did his jacket become stained with semen then?

Chong explained that it was because the legs of his shorts were loose and part of his jacket was hanging below the seam of his shorts.

But District Judge Jill Tan said she found Chong to be an untruthful and unconvincing witness.

He had a ready answer for every question that was put to him, and she found his evidence to be too detailed and well-explained at every turn, such that it seemed rehearsed.

She pointed out how Chong had recalled shifting around his haversack on the bus. But this seemed to be his attempt to show that what the woman had felt was his haversack and not his private parts.

The judge also said that the crux of the case was whether Chong had brushed his penis against the woman.

As for Chong’s medical condition of spontaneous ejaculation, it was a “secondary issue”.

The judge said that even if the accused had a spontaneous ejaculation, there was no reason for him to brush his penis against the victim’s thigh.

It was not Chong’s first brush with the law.

In 2002, he was jailed 15 months’ and given three strokes of the cane, also for outrage of modesty.

Chong, who was 21 then, had been teaching two girls, aged 13 and 14, to play the drums. During the lesson, he placed his penis in their left hand, which he had earlier told them to put behind their back.

Chong continued with his studies at NUS after his release from prison.

In his mitigation, Chong’s lawyer, Mr Ravinderpal Singh, asked the court to impose a minimal sentence without caning.

He said that the victim was not a minor. He added that Chong had done volunteer work with ex-offenders and had also participated in various community projects.

For outrage of modesty, Chong could have been jailed two years and caned.

One of them, Dr Lionel Lim, a consultant psychiatrist, told the court that it was an uncommon but recognised medical condition.

He saw Chong but did not conduct a physical examination on him.

But, based on Chong’s previous medical reports, Dr Lim’s opinion was that he was sexually aroused easily.

Those reports stated that Chong had ejaculated without physical stimulation while being examined.

Dr Lim added that the condition is a sexual dysfunction.

Dr Joe Lee, a urologist at the National University Hospital, also took the stand.

He had given Chong a body checkup but said he was unable to comment on the amount of stimulation Chong needed to ejaculate.

He added that sufferers have poor control over their ejaculation, which can happen with just a light touch or an urgency to urinate.

Yep, tt's yrs ago when I was in sec sch and JC... The ancient time where you need complex formulas and precise punching of the scientfic calculator to do statistical problems and sketching transformation graphs of a f(x) + b and f(ax + b) gives you marks...

Now, a mere punching of numbers into the GRAPHICAL CALCULATOR will solve almost everything, including finding correlations and regressions... Haiz... Even though I'm not tt old, the exposure to different technology makes me feel like I'm from the dinosaur age or something... *Sigh*

I think it's time I should @ least learn how to use the graphical calculator... Would anyone be kind enough to lend it and teach me how to use it??? *Pleading look*

Oh well, the recess wk has finally arrived and I'm able to save a little on traveling expenses for the next 5 days or so... And tt's all the rejoicing I'll be doing... I seriously must force myself to not indulge too much in unproductive (read = [Facebook]) activities... Rather, I must have the mentality of 'work comes before play'...

[DSC2003], [ST1131A] and [BSP1005] tutorials shouldn't be a problem... It's the whole revising for the mods tt's making me feeling a little anxious, which I understand tt it's kinda irrational... Could it be due to the fear of being brain dead and tt this time I'll be competing with a whole bunch of other, more smarter ppl??? Again, tt reasoning's sort of flawed as during the [Special Sem], I'm already pitting myself against smarter, more senior ppl...

Great, this deduction simply implies tt the source of my jitterness is unknown...

Which leads me to today's [Marketing] survey which I've to do... To put it simply, the students are used as subjects to collect data for some graduate students who're doing market research... Today's survey requires me to 1st do 5 [Maths] qus and I guess it's the paranoia of holding everyone up tt I couldn't solve some simply pri sch [Maths] qus... I ended up mis-reading the qus and giving the wrong ans for one and couldn't solve a simple simultaneous equations...

The paranoia tt I'm habouring with regards to how others are viewing me is getting out of hand... I just hope I'm able to get a grip on myself before I go schizo...

Anyway, since I'm on the whole [Marketing] subject, I might as well continue with the story on how I busted my chance on getting some class participation marks during today's tutorial... There's a pop quiz to help ppl who are shy and early to score some marks... I'm the shy and early ppl... However, I did the dumbest, stupidest, moronic thing ever... I didn't prepare for the tutorial and hence couldn't answer the pop quiz questions... Or to be exavt, I did write some stuff down, but it's clear from the answers tt I didn't prepare AT ALL...

Yep, so the bottom line here is to complete the harder, more demanding tutorials during the hols, like the 2 [GEK1527] assignments and [MKT1003] assignment... On top of tt, I'll still have to prepare for a project on the latter mod as well as to mug for my mid-term tests... If the seniors say it's impt, it's impt... Heck, which test isn't impt in history?!

Maybe the constant thought to mantain my CAP is causing me undue stress... Whatever the case, this wk long break is meant for 80% work, 20% play... =D

There's No More Time...

Woah, I realised tt as I logged into this webby, the contents of what I initially wanted to type just disappeared into thin air... It's as if the mere sight of this webpage drives the thoughts and ideas away...

Well, tt's highly unlikely as I'm dedicated to mantain this blog just as I would keep a tight grip on my innocence, never giving them up... LOL... Well, the not many would agree on the whole 'innocence' part, so perhaps I should've mentioned tt I'll continue blogging just as I would gaming on [MapleStory], huh... Haha...

Yep, I've sort of gone back to playing [MapleStory] after all... Though [MJ] just tempted me to do [Dragonica] too and it's a losing battle for me to even try to resist, so I did install the game client only to find tt I've lost touch with what I've been doing with my previous char... Haha... And the only natural thing tt I'll do is to restart the character all over again... God knows how many times I've done this already...

I tried playing the game on my laptop and it's a little laggy, though I couldn't identify whether it's the connect fault or the graphics tt's @ fault... Well, I;ll try the game for a couple more while when I've the time to determine whether the problem persists... It's no fun playing the game when the graphics aren't moving smoothly, with the gameplay being interrupted with the occassional jerky movement... It totally spoils the fun...

Thank goodness [MapleStory] and [Audition] are still good to go... Though the bottom-line here should be tt I shouldn't be playing so much... Or be limiting the stuff I'm playing and actually start to study as the scary (tt's the feeling I got from the seniors', not my own) mid-terms are just around the corner...

Studying and completing my tutorials on time... Time to learn the following all-impt skills - time management and multi-tasking... =S

Anyway, @ least I didn't forget abt the most impt thing tt I wanna blog abt, which was my trip to [Ion Orchard]'s [Swensen's] for the long-awaited 1-for-1 ice-cream buffet... I jio-ed [YH] along and we met @ 11 am, in [Orchard MRT Stn]... LOL... I finally managed to try having ice-cream and all things sweet for lunch... And it's a good exp indeed as there're quite a number of ice-cream flavours for you to choose from as well as the variety of toppings tt you can add to your ice-cream is astounding... Atap seeds, strawberry, mango syrup, cherries, pineapples, lychee, oreo cookies, a wide selection of nuts, cerals, chocolate fudge, melted marshmellow, etc...

Seriously, I think if I were to eat only the toppings and nth else, I'll still be filled...

Apart from the normal ice-cream, of which you can select 5 flavours per servings, you can also get the staff to create your very own mix of ice-cream flavour as they mix and 'fry' the ice-cream on those frozen 'hot' plate... Haha... And i overheard one of the staff saying tt it's like making 'muah-chee'... =P

There's obviously more to it than merely ice-cream... They do have waffles as well and how you want to eat your waffles, tt's up to your imaginations... You can eat it plain, go together with ice-cream or in my case, go with the toppings... LOL... Come to think of it now, you can also eat waffles with whipped cream... Yes, the cream is self-service so you can help yourself to as much as you like, though the 2 of us didn't really touch the cream @ all... It's fattening... As if whatever we're eating ain't fattening @ all... Haha... -_-"'

Fondue fountain... There're 2 of them, one spilling white chocolate, the other normal dark chocolate... It's the 1st time tt I'm seeing an actual chocolate fondue fountain and I'm totally amused over it... And behaving like a totaly kid, marvelling @ all the stuff tt's on display...

Yep, I had fun all right, and after spending 3 hrs eating and chatting, I'm stuffed and perhaps I've also gotten 15 yrs of my life sheared off from consuming all those teeth-decaying food...

[YH] got a bear balloon from the [Swensen's] staff and she's a complete meanie as we toured a little of [Ion Orchard] as she was waving the bear @ cute toddlers, tempting them with the balloon and in my opinion, giving them the false impression tt she's gonna give them a similar balloon, but wasn't really in reality...

However, the toddlers don't feel tt way... Rather, they seemed rather amused and happy to see a balloon being waved in front of them and not being able to have it @ all... LOL...

We also saw a 4 cute male promoters doing some advertising for some facial product by having 2 of those cuties staying inside a glass cubicle tt's also housing a skeleton and waving idiotically @ passer-bys... I was just being my typical self and ogling @ those cuties and wasn't paying much attention to whatever the store's name was... Haha...

I'm desperate and totally not ashamed to show it...

The other thing I'm not ashamed to announce to the whole world was tt both [YH] and I were terrible @ navigating around tt huge shopping mall and we ended up almost getting lost... 1st by walking unknowingly to [Wheelock Place] and later by having difficulty finding the way back to the MRT stn... Zzz... -_-"'

Overall, it's a good experience and I'll definitely head back to [Swensen's] for tt buffet again in the near future...

It's time to get back to the reality - tutorials and mid-terms... OMG!!!

Green On Earth Cafe...

I couldn't recall who was the one who suggested tt [The Gang] to have a mthly gathering... It's an excellent way to bond and keep in touch... Which is why I was kinda excited over yesterday's meeting despite it being held @ a vegetarian cafe - [Green On Earth Cafe] - located in [Beauty World Centre]...

I'm not a huge fan of the shopping centres found along tt area for it has tt ancient kinda, as if only old ppl will visit tt place... The only reason I'm stepping foot into tt area is because of the prata shop just across the road as well as the realisation tt [Udders]'s located somewhere in tt area too... Hmmm... Perhaps on my next trip to feast on the exotic pratas, I'll grab a couple of scoops of ice-cream before heading back home then... Yum... =P

Anyway, I was kinda early and if I had known tt [SH] was there and eating ice-cream, I wouldn't have been tt bored for 30 mins as I waited for the rest to arrive... LOL... From the sound of tt, anyone can tell tt I'm long overdue for my ice-cream fix, which is projected to take place next weekend provided tt [YH] is able to make it... Haiz...

I was abt to curse myself for not bringing [Digital Life] or [Mind Your Body] for the nth time when I finally spotted the group arriving from [JP], as well as [SH]... And so my trigger happy instincts kicked in @ high gear...

The rest have yet to arrive, but we decided settle down in the restaurant 1st while we wait... After all, why give air-con a miss and stay outside, allowing the fumes from the hawker centre to permeate into our clothes and hair???

The arrival of the 1st b-day girl...

While waiting for b-day gril No. 2 to arrive, [XP] was traumatised by both me and [SH]...

Caught completely unaware!!! I must applaud my ability to take sneak shots... *Victory sign*

It's disgusting to others, but apparently, everyone couldn't care less...

2 more members have yet to arrive and some of us were already itching to bite into food... Initially we wanted to order the [Baked French Fries], which sounds alright to me, but it ran out of stock or something, so we have to settle with the [Fried Soy Chicken Nuggets]...

When the dish was served, I was kinda skeptical over the taste, fearing tt the nugget-shaped like food was filled with those disgusting veg... Yet when I took a bite out of it, I could hardly feel any veg texture or taste for tt matter... In fact, it's actually delicious!!! Haha... =)

The choices are hard to make as everything seems nice, eh??? Haha...

Arrival of 2nd b-day girl...

After most of us placed an order for our individual main dish, we took a group pic 1st as [Bec] has to rush off to attend a concert with her friend down @ [Woodlands]... It was kinda short for her case, but not to worry!!! There's always the next mth to look forward to... *Grins*

As I took my lunch @ abt 1500 hrs, I wasn't really hungry, which was a good thing considering tt everything on the menu has vegs on it, like DUH, except the desserts... So I simply ordered the [Home-Made Blueberry Yogurt], which turns out to be quite ordinary anyway...

When the pizzas were served, I decided to give it a shot and again, I couldn't detect any veg, despite me ingesting some pizza tt's topped with tofu and some other unknown stuff tt's definitely not meat... LOL...

Well, with the main course over, it's finally time for the cake-cutting process!!!

There were talks of heading over to [Udders] for some uce-cream, but much to my dismay, there wasn't much consensus... Everyone decided to head back home, with a few rushing back to catch [Corpse Bride]... ='(
